The sensitivity of fiber optical seismometer could be further improved by optimizing the structure and using multilayer fiber coils. In this paper, the strain distribution of fiber coils is analyzed and simulated, the simulated result shows that not only the position, but also the number of the fiber layers have significant effects on the sensitivity. A 7-layer fiber coil that fixed on the optimized position obtain a higher sensitivity than other structures. The optimized structure is useful for designing a more practical disk-type seismometer that with higher sensitivity and lighter weight.
