Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) technology provides a good support for vehicle networking communication because its high speed, large capacity, low delay and other characteristics. But for the highway, which is sensitive to delay, the periodic transmission of the beacon in the LTE-A system leads to an intolerable delay. To optimize the delay, this paper improve a distributed peer discovery protocol. The proposed protocol requires vehicles to advertise their presence, and Evolved NodeB (eNB) divides them into clusters following a certain rule, which we called peer discovery. In order to minimize delay occupancy, vehicles in different groups broadcast their information on the same slot. Our numerical analysis indicates that under the same discovery probability, the delay is reduced by 60%. |
