With the emergence of new applications and development of Internet technology, the network capacity required is growing explosively. Elastic optical networks based on Space-Division Multiplexing(SDM) technology have become the research focus in order to cope with the capacity limitation of traditional single-mode fibers. Compared with the traditional routing and spectrum resource allocation problem, the introduction of space division multiplexing technology in optical networks brings about the problem of core allocation. In this paper, we propose a routing, spectrum and core assignment method with the dividing frequency slots area for space division multiplexing elastic optical networks. Simulation results show that by using this method, blocking probability can be reduced.
