In this paper, burst assembly effects on Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) performance is demonstrated experimentally on an optical burst switching (OBS) testbed. Considering the effect of delay penalty and correlation benefit, the assembly process can be optimized to maximize available bandwidth over OBS networks, which is of real significance.
