Many organizations are working very hard to achieve good quality goods and services, which provide a route towards business excellence. This Paper aims to find out what is there to learn from the application of ISO 9001:2000 in Education Industry, and why it is necessary for educational institutions to acquire ISO Certification. Firstly, the current thinking and development of ISO 9000 Standard are summarized. Then the rationales of developing QMS under ISO 9001:2000 as a vehicle towards quality educational services or products are established. Next, the relationships between the Quality Management Process Model under 8 fundamental principles & 4 key elements and educational quality are discussed along with the Kirkpatrick Model of training evaluation. Finally, a prototype of Quality Management Model for Higher Education based on a quantitative cum qualitative research is suggested.
