The network simulation 2 (ns2) is widely used in both academia and industry for the simulation of pacekt-switched networks. As WiMAX system is gradually commercial, system-level simulation is taken more and more attentions. This paper provides an ns2-based platform for WiMAX system-level simulation with scheduling and resource allocation. In this paper, we have analyzed the existing modules and present our detailed improvements based on ns2. A scheme for QoS and effective utilization of the system resource is also implemented in this platform. According to the simulation results, the performance of the proposed scheme is more effective for QoS.
