Due to its superior electromechanical properties in application, Giant Magnetostrictive Material (GMM) gains more interests in recent years. To magnify its current induced micro displacement, a pressing and bending mechanism based giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA) was designed and its dynamic model was presented. The dynamic model consisted of two parts, a rate-independent hysteretic part and a linear part described by a linear transfer function.
