The effect of BTH preharvest application on the inhibition of anthracnose and physiology of postharvested peach fruits were examined. Peach fruits were treated with BTH of different concentrations. Preharvest spraing 50mg/L BTH on peach showed an obvious effect on controlling postharvest decay in peach fruits. BTH was effective on decreasing titratable acidity, loss of weight and respiration rate and ethylene production , maintained a higher level of firmness,, and extending the storage life.
Keywords: Nanshan Peach; benzothiadiazole(BTH); anthracnose; postharvest physiology
