Cu-5wt%Cr mixed powders are mechanically alloyed at temperatures from 20 to -30℃, respectively. It shows that the Cr element cannot be dissolved into Cu matrix unless milled at low temperatures (lower than -20℃). When milled at low temperatures, the excessively cold welding events of Cu-5wt% powder particles are reduced, and this is favourable to get fine Cu grain. In respect to Cu-Cr alloy system characterized by positive heat of mixing, milled at low temperatures, the milling intensity increases and the decomposition due to thermo diffusion of atom is prevented, thus a Cu-Cr solid solution formed during milling can be obtained. |
