Taxol is an anti-cancer drug targeting the microtubule cytoskeleton. Microtubule-binding proteins can interact with microtubules and regulate their functions. Recent studies show that these proteins can regulate cancer cell sensitivity to taxol. In this review, we summarize the roles of microtubule-binding proteins in regulating the anti-cancer activity of taxol and discuss the underlying mechanisms.
