This paper proposes a prototype of a construction schedule management system based on 4D simulation and information flow technologies. As a branch of Building Information Model (BIM), this system integrates the systems of IDEF0v information flow modeling, Design Structure Matrix (DSM) optimization and Virtual Reality (VR) simulation. Apart from visualize the construction process with 4D simulation, as most normal BIM schedule management systems could, the proposed system could also optimize the construction schedule with the information flow modeling and DSM optimizing, and allow the construction managers to make dynamical adaption and optimization to the schedule according to the differences between planned and real process. This system could help the construction managers supervise and control the construction schedule with information and visualization-based schedule simulation model in the whole process of construction project.?????
