Reaction sintered Si3N4-based composite ceramic was prepared by quasi-static temperature-rising craft with the powder of Si as raw material, SiC and Al as additives. Results of friction experiment show that the tribological properties of ceramics were influenced by load, lubrication and counterface materials. The steady friction coefficient and wear rate increase with the increase of load. The wear rate of materials decreased under the water-lubricatation condition and the wear property of ceramics was improved. Both the friction coefficient and wear rate of ceramic samples sliding against GCr15 ring were lower than samples sliding against Si3N4 ring under the same friction conditions.
