Vanadium-based catalytic mesoporous silicates are the good candidates as the redox catalysts, which are used for degradation of volatile organic compounds and combustion of waste organic pollutants. Vanadium modified mesoporous silicates (VMS) was prepared by in-situ method with the assistant of surfactants Brij 56. The properties of VMS were characterized with SEM, N2-sorption isotherm and UV-vis, their activation was studied on the oxidation of phenol, styrene, anisole and toluene. Those catalysts showed a relative low activity for the conversion of phenol and high activity for toluene. The highest conversion of toluene can be achieved with the catalyst Y05.
Keywords:VMS; mesoporous; oxidation catalysis
