The work of maintaining the positions of each book in a big library has always been a very complicated and time consuming work. Since every people in the library, the librarian, the teachers, the students, can alter the positions of books randomly. Therefore, allocating a book in a big library is a difficult problem. RFID has been a promising technology since its infancy for inventory. And some indoor positioning application has been developed based on this platform. However, the previous work has been contributed to measure the Euclidean position of a RFID tagged item and the accuracy is under satisfactory compared to the small size of a book. In this work, we proposed a new method to locate a single book. It combines the empirical measurements with signal propagation modeling to determine book location and thereby enable book position notification service to readers. We present experimental results that demonstrate the ability of this method to estimate book location with a high degree of accuracy. |
