Wireless sensor network (WSN), which has drawn more and more attention, is considered to be well applied in various fields. Healthcare is one of these fields, while emergency rescue is a critical scenario in healthcare. In emergency rescue, personnel positioning is extremely needed as the injured should be found and get treatment in time so that more lives can be saved. Therefore, in this paper, the traditional positioning algorithm (TPA) is analysed and a new cellular wireless positioning algorithm (CWPA) is proposed, and the positioning performance of these two algorithms are compared through simulation. The results show that the new proposed algorithm can achieve a better positioning accuracy which should meet practical requirements.
