In this paper, we propose an indoor visible light positioning method with a large number of LEDs which takes illumination into consideration. ID signals are designed and transmitted in groups to achieve high positioning accuracy. The influence of different number of LEDs on positioning accuracy is analyzed thereafter. LEDs are individually scaled by an optimization factor to overcome the illumination performance degradation problem induced by applying massive LEDs. Simulation results show that high accuracy positioning is possible with moderate amount of LEDs without degrading illumination performance.
