For minimizing the total power consumption while making the best of the backhaul capacity, as well as maintaining the minimum target data rate, a joint user selection and rate adaptation scheme is proposed in this paper, where coordinated multi-point (CoMP) transmission with centralized architecture is considered in a wideband system. Based on the water-filling rate adaptation and the power saving criterion, the scheme can achieve near-optimal solution of the problem which is modeled as mixed integer programming. Meanwhile, a heuristic iterative procedure with search scope shrinking is employed to reduce the complexity. Simulation results validate that the proposed algorithm nearly achieves optimal performance compared with exhaustive search and enjoys a significant total power reduction compared with other existing user selection schemes. |
