This article introduced the concept and development of healthy city ,discusses the construction of the evaluation index system ."Healthy City"was introduced to China in 1990s, the nature of which is an organic integration of healthy people, healthy environment and healthy society. Healthy City is a new reform to traditional economic development model and should be an important goal of China's urban growth. It is necessary to build a set of scientific and logical evaluation index sysem for the development of healthy city.
