The theoretical calculation of the first experimental results about third harmonic generation in gas-filled waveguide by the femto-second laser pulses is proposed. It is found that the walk-off and phase modulation exert an important effect on the pressure-signal curve, the ratio of signal intensities in different modes and the efficiency of the third harmonic generation. It is also found that the calculation result of the third harmonic generation efficiency approaches the corresponding experimental result.
