The influences of the uniaxial compressive stress on the dynamic hysteresis of the PZT piezoelectric stack actuator were investigated through the Landau-Khalatnikov simulation and experiments. The results showed that the hysteresis area (A), remnant polarization (Pr) and coercive field (Ec) decreased with increasing the external compressive stress, which could be interpreted in terms of ion displacement, domain switching and movement of 90o domain wall under the under combined electric field and uniaxial compressive stress. Furthermore, as for the change trends of the hysteresis loops (E-P loops) with increasing stress, the simulated results are found to be in good agreement with the measured results.
