Important monolignols such as coniferyl alcohol were catalyzed by Rhus laccases from Rhus vernicifera in water/acetone solution. The enzymatic mechanism was detailedly discussed. The sites 6, 円 and phenolic oxygen were the mainly active sites of phenylpropanoid compounds which were first oxidized by enzyme and then radical reaction followed.
