In this paper, light emission from aligned multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) under continuous wave CO2 laser (?10.6祄) irradiation was reported to be angle dependent, whereas it is not polarization. Intensity of the light emission at certain wavelength shows a Lorentzian feature when ?varies from 0?to 90? where ?denotes the angle between laser incident direction and the nanotube axis. The Lorentzian fitting curve displays different tendency at short wavelength and long wavelength. The intensity mentioned above is minimum near 鑝=67?at short wavelength (?600nm) and is maximum near 鑝=60?at long wavelength (?700nm). This result shows the anisotropic properties of aligned MWNTs.
