Au-dispersed (Bi,Nd)4Ti3O12 thin films were prepared on fused silica and Pt-coated silicon substrates by sol-gel method, and the microstructure, ferroelectric and optical absorption properties of the thin films were studied. The thin films crystallized in layered perovskite phase, with smooth and dense surface. Au existed in the thin films as metal phase. A well-defined polarization-electric field hysteresis loop was measured for the thin films with 1.6% molar ratio of dispersed Au, and an obvious absorption peak at about 630 nm due to surface plasmon resonance of Au nanoparticles was observed in optical absorption spectra. The Au-dispersed (Bi,Nd)4Ti3O12 thin films might find applications in ferroelectric-based optoelectronic devices. |
