This paper identifies some of the current trends affecting the tourism, including globalization, the importance of offering outstanding services, the new technologies that enhance competitiveness, the population ageing that impacts directly on tourist demand and the correlation between price and value. Reference is also made to the obstacles in the development of tourism in Fuxin city. Furthermore, the paper attempts to analyze the Fuxin tourism performance indicators for the further development and suggest ways out of the recession for the tourism industry. The suggestions to the tourism development in Fuxin city include careful analysis of the current situations and application of the proper countermeasures, strengthening market exploration, investing in exceptional services and sustainability of destinations, as well as utilizing the new technologies and the collaboration of tourism industries.
