Abstract:Theoretical calculations were used to explore the complete reaction mechanism of nickel-catalyzed [3+2+2] cocyclization of ethyl cyclopropylideneacetate and phenylacetylene. The lowest energy pathway is made of a series of ring-opening and closing with a C-C bond formation step as the rate-determining step of the overall reaction. The energy barrier with ZPE for this step is 16.9 kcal/mol and in agreement with the reported reaction conditions. | |||

Abstract:Three b-cyclodextrin derivatives were respectively chemisorbed onto the gold nanoparticles to give the b-cyclodextrin-coated gold nanoparticles, which were sufficiently characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, elemental analyses, ICP-AES and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Spectrophotometric studies showed that these coated gold nanoparticles could efficiently enhance the fluorescence of tryptophan and tryptophan-containing oligopeptides through the selective binding of b-cyclodextrin cavities with the tryptophan groups attached on the surface of gold nuclei. Fluorescence titrations give the apparent association constants for the binding of coated gold nanoparticles with tryptophan and tryptophan-containing oligopeptides. The molecular binding ability and selectivity are discussed from the viewpoint of induced-fit effect between host and guest. | |||

The catalytic studies on 4 indicate that it is effective catalysts for the Suzuki reaction of activated aryl bromides with phenylboronic acid in neat water under air at atmosphere. | |||
