Abstract:Using first principles methods and climbing image nudged elastic band method (CI-NEB),the migration barriers and binding energies are calculated and being used as input data in kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of microstructure evolution of $ ext{Ga}_{1-x} ext{Mn}_x ext{As}$.It is elucidated that the mechanism behind the long-term microstructure evolution of $ ext{Ga}_{1-x} ext{Mn}_x ext{As}$ during postgrowth annealingis Ga vacancy mediated Mn diffusion on the Ga sublattice. This diffusion leads to Mn clustering, which reduces the Curie temperature. Furthermore, the clustering rate changes rapidly along the annealing temperature. The high-temperature annealing easily lead to detectable phase separation.

Abstract:This paper gives out two kinds of novel well-behaved stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) mediums, FC-3283 and FC-770. Numerical calculation and experimental measurements show these two mediums both having lower absorption, higher optical loads and short phonon lifetime, which making them good candidate mediums for high-energy high-power SBS. Using them as the mediums in the compacted two-cell SBS phase-conjugation mirror, it is easily to generate ultrashort phased-conjugated Stokes pulses just with hundreds picoseconds. When the incident light energy is beyond 200 mJ, the pulse width of 8 ns can be compressed to 200 ps or less in both mediums. Especially, the FC-770 is very suitable to be chosen for generating the SBS picosecond pulses with the narrowest compression pulse width of 109 ps and the highest energy reflectivity of 80%.

Abstract:Fluorescence properties of DCM solution and solid dyes were researched applying femtosecond pulses under linear and nonlinear excitation. The reabsorption was found distinct in the solid dyes compared with that in solutions under similar conditions. Nonlinear fluorescence spectra of DCM and rhodamine 590 co-doped tunable laser dyes in ethanol were also researched. The energy transfer of rhodamine 590 to DCM was found neglectable in the nonlinear excitation spectra of the co-doped liquid dyes.

4. Focusing effect and modulation mechanism of the beam self-fields on the electron's Larmor rotation in the free-electron laser with an axial guide magnetic field

Abstract:It is revealed that at anti-resonance in a free-electron laser with a reversed guide magnetic field, the beam self-fields can act to focus the beam transport and prevent the electrons from striking on the waveguide wall before the wiggler exit. It is found that the focusing function results from the modulation of the periodically-varying self-field tangential and normal components on the electron's Larmor rotation. As a potential application, substantial improvement of the wave gain and output power at anti-resonance could be expected, since the beam current loss can be obviated by using this modulation mechanism.

Abstract:In a free-electron devices such as the free-electron laser and the electron cyclotron maser, the electric and magnetic fields generated by a relativistic electron beam substantially affect the electrons' motion and consequently the performance of the device. In this paper the expressions are analytically derived by means of the conservation of particle number for both the electric and magnetic fields generated by a solid electron beam with Gaussian profile, where the situations inside and outside regions of the electron beam are included, and all the explicit expressions are written in terms of the macroscopical radius, current and drifting velocity of the electron beam.

Abstract:This paper reports on the spectroscopic properties and energy transfer analysis of Yb3+ and Tm3+ co-doped 55.98ZrF4-28BaF2-2.5LaF3-4AlF3-7NaF-2.5YbF3-0.02TmF3 amorphous ?uoride ?lm prepared by pulsed laser deposition. This glass thin ?lm has the potential application for integrated optical waveguide ampli?er and laser. Ultraviolet and visible up-conversion emissions were observed under infrared excitation at 980 nm. In comparison with that of the target, the upconversion emissions are enhanced greatly. The possible mechanism of the emissions was given.

7. Improvement Field Emission of Carbon Nanotube/Polyurethane Foam Composites by Cellular Wall Field Enhancement Structure

Abstract:In this paper, the electron field-emission characteristics of carbon-nanotube-polymer composites produced by static casting were reported. An emission current density of 1 mA/cm2 was obtained at an operating electric field of 1.4 V/μm with a turn-on field of 0.6 V/μm at 0.01 mA/cm2 by using 2% volume fraction of CNT in polymer composites. Such low field is resulted from a high field enhancement factor of 2.34×104 due to the combined effects of the high intrinsic aspect ratio of carbon nanotubes and the typical cellular structure of polymer composites.

Abstract:We present an all-fiber system for supercontiuum generation in normal dispersion photonic crystal fiber. Spectral broadening has been observed, and supercontinuum generation with a 20-dB spectral width of over 240 nm at 1550 nm has been achieved. Based on generalized nonlinear Schr?dinger equation we simulate the supercontinuum generation numerically and find the soliton fission does not play an important role in the normal dispersion regime.

Abstract:Extremely low voltage white organic light-emitting devices (WOLEDs) with fluorescent emitters are realized via the p-i-n structure. In this work, the influence of various electron blocking layer /hosts for fluorescent dye 5,6,11, 12-tetraphenylnaphthacene (rubrene) are discussed. White light is attributed to two complementary. Characteristics of WOLED reach 1000 cd/m2 at 2.9V, and 10000 cd/m2 at 4.7 V with the maximum power efficiency of 8.7 lm/W at 2.5V. The commission internationale de 1'Eclairage chromaticity coordinate changes from (0.36, 0.45) at 1000cd/m2 to (0.33, 0.42) at 10000cd/m2 showing high color stability.
