Abstract:We present two 3D copper cavity systems with tunable transmons but different structures. The first one is a transmon with a dc-SQUID, which shows a transition frequency tunability of $sim3.7$~GHz and a vacuum Rabi splitting of $sim360$~MHz. The other one is a transmon with three junctions in a superconducting loop, in which an avoided crossing of $sim440$~MHz is apparently observed by adding another two single-junction transmons.

Abstract:Spin-spin interactions or coupling constants play important roles in molecule structure elucidation. However, measurements of JHH values in complex coupled spin systems remain challenging. In this study, a selective constant-time (SECT) 2D NMR protocol is proposed for revealing scalar-coupling networks and measuring JHH values for intricately scalar-coupled spin systems. All JHH values within a network of n fully coupled protons can be separately revealed within (n-1) SECT experiments. Furthermore, the proposed pulse sequence possesses satisfactory sensitivity and handy implementation. Therefore, it will interest chemists who intend to address structural analyzes of molecules with overcrowded spectra, and may greatly facilitate the applications of scalar-coupling constants in molecule structure studies.

Abstract:Schottky diode is usually made of all kinds of semiconductor, medium, conductor and superconductor. The Terahertz permittivity of Gallium Arsenide (GaAs), Silicon Dioxide (SiO2), Platinum (Pt) and Titanium (Ti) for Schottky diode is briefly reviewed. Firstly, complex permittivity retrieval method of thin film based on the transmission and reflection coefficients of terahertz wave incident on the thin film is presented. The dispersive Drude-Lorentz model for GaAs, the relative flat value of real and imaginary parts of the permittivity for SiO2, and complex refractive index for Ti at Terahertz frequency is discussed. Semiconductor GaAs, conductor Pt and Ti are dispersive media i.e. the complex permittivity is a frequency response function. Among numerical method, Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is a popular algorithm for dispersive media. The deduction flowchart of shift operator FDTD method for dispersive media is given.

Abstract:Magnetic properties of carbon fiber (CF) composites were explored at radio frequency. The artificial high-frequency magnetic response of CF composites was experimentally demonstrated. Basing on the theoretical model proposed by Lagarkov et al, the effective magnetic permeability of composite was numerically explored. The numerical result yields a good agreement with the experimental result for dilute CF composites. It was found that the permeability of composite will increase with the volume fraction of CF (vf) until it is close to the percolation threshold of composite. We also found larger aspect ratio of CF will cause larger permeability for the composite with same vf.

Abstract:In this paper, wave propagation in chiral metamaterials (CMMs) is reviewed. Firstly the basic electromagnetic characteristics such as optical activity, circular dichroism and negative refraction effect caused by the different transmission of right and left circularly polarized wave in CMMs are presented. Theoretical research methods for effective CMMs such as technique to retrieve the effective constitutive parameters, i.e. permittivity, permeability and chirality parameters, analytical Mie series method, Bi-Isotropic (BI) Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and an extension of conventional FDTD method etc are studied. A brief review of the physical realization and potential applications of chiral metamaterials is given. Finally our work on cloak characteristic of CMMs with Mie series method is discussed.

Abstract:Time reversal techniques and its applications in acoustics and electromagnetics are reviewed in this paper. First, Brief descriptions of time reversal process and time reversal imaging are given. Then, under the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) and multi-scattering cases, time reversal imaging techniques based on time reversal operator-decomposition of the time reversal operator (DORT under its French language acronym) and time reversal multiple signal classification (TR-MUSIC) are discussed in detail. The progress of time reversal imaging method is retrospected and a conclusion and some advice are given at last.

Abstract:Reviews: A deactivation model with random reactivation mechanism is proposedto describe the network of scientific citation. In this model, theaging and the possible reactivation of nodes are taken into account.Along with the network evolution, active nodes may become inactivenodes, and inactive nodes may become active nodes again. In the evolutionof networks, only active nodes can receive link from the new node. Bothanalytical calculation and numerical simulation show that the degreedistribution is determined by the parameters m and α, where m is the outgoing links of the new node and α is a constantbias. For α=m+2, the degree distribution shows scale-free behavior.Whereas the degree distribution is exponential for α→β.Furthermore, empirical data of three real-world citation networks are studied, andnumerical results show that the model can reproduce the in-degree distribution.

Abstract:Reviews: We study a non-growth network model, which bases on the nonlinearpreferential redistributions. There are N communities, each ofwhich is characterized by the quantity ki, which is the number ofthe nodes in the community i. At each time step, two communities i and j are chosen by the probability of μ(ki) and υ(kj), respectively. The community i loses one node, and atthe same time the community j gets the node. The total numbers ofcommunities and nodes all over the networks are conserved. Assumingpower-law kernels with exponents α and β, the networkstructures in stationary states are related to the parameters α and β. We investigate stationary distributions ofthese quantities both analytically and numerically in all cases, andfind that the model exhibits the scaling behavior for some cases. For α>β, the network is widely homogeneous with acharacteristic connectivity. For α<β, the network ishighly heterogeneous with the emergence of condensing phenomenon. Therefore, most of the distribution will be broken in two parts. For α=β and α≥0, along with the increase of α, the network gradually shift form scale free with anexponential cutoff for scale free. For α=β and α<0, the network is non-monotonous.

Abstract:Reviews: We study aging networks which couple addition of new nodes anddeactivation of old ones. During network evolution, each nodeexperiences two stages: active and inactive. The transition from theactive state to the inactive one is based on the rank of the node. For simplicity, we adopt age as a criterion of ranking and proposetwo deactivation models that generalize previous research. In modelA, the older node possesses the higher rank, whereas for model B,the younger node takes the higher rank. We make comparable study ofthe two models through the node degree distribution.
