Abstract:Supported Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 were used as the catalyst for Friede-Crafts acylation of phthalic anhydride with ethyl benzene to 2-(4′-ethylbenzoyl)benzoic acid (BEA). The catalysis of silica gel (SG) loaded with different amounts of Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 (varying 5 wt%-30 wt%) were prepared through a simple and effective impregnation method. The samples were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, BET, Hammett indicator and ammonia adsorption-desorption, and revealed that Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 dispersed highly on the surface of SG. The catalytic performance of the samples in the synthesis of BEA was also studied. The results indicate that the sample with 10 wt% Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40/SG shows the highest catalytic activity, and the best yield of BEA reached 62.6% when the reaction parameters such as effect of reaction temperature, effect of reaction time, molar ratio of phthalic anhydride to ethyl benzene were under optimized conditions. The reusability tests of the catalysts show that the catalysts can be used several times without significant loss in activity.

Abstract:A novel Al2O3/graphene oxide composite(Al2O3/GOs) was prepared by sol-gel technology. The as-synthesized materials were characterized by XRD, SEM/TEM, BET and FT-IR etc. The synthesis of graphite oxide (GO) was accomplished by the Hummers method. Before Sol-Gel process, exfoliated graphite oxide was dispersed into uniform suspension in water/alcohol solution. To investigate the modification effect from graphene in catalytic alumina materials, we investigated respectively the CoMoS catalysts supported in composite and γ-Al2O3 for selective HDS of FCC gasoline oil, the result showed the CoMoS catalyst loaded on Al2O3/graphene composite possess a higher selective hydrodesulfurization performance than γ-Al2O3.
