Abstract:We examine the deep learning technique referred to as the physics-informed neural network method for approximating nonlinear Schr?dinger equation under considered parity time symmetric potentials and obtaining multifarious soliton solutions. For the first time, neural networks founded principally physical information are adopted to figure out the solution the examined nonlinear partial differential equation and generate six different types of soliton solutions, which are basic, dipole, tripole, quadruple, pentapole and sextupole solitons we consider. We make comparisons between the predicted and actual soliton solutions to see whether deep learning is capable of seeking the solution the partial differential equation described before. We may assess whether physics-informed neural network is capable of effectively providing approximate soliton solutions through the evaluation of squared error between the predicted and numerical results. Besides, we also scrutinize how different activation mechanisms and network architectures impact the capability of selected deep learning technique works.Through the findings we can prove that the neural networks model we established can be utilized to accurately and effectively approximate nonlinear Schr?dinger equation under consideration and predict the dynamics of soliton solution.

Abstract:The dissipative Kerr soliton combs based on microresonators have attracted wide attention due to their high coherence and on-chip integration. Soliton microcombs have been proven to have broad application prospects in the fields of coherent communication, on-chip low-noise microwave generation, optical clock, etc. However, most applications for tuning the bandwidth of soliton microcombs use a thermoelectric cooler (TEC), which increases the complexity of the system. Here, we have fabricated a magnesium fluoride microresonator with an ultrahigh-quality factor of about 927 million. Use \'power-kicking\' technology to actively capture and stabilize solitons. Then, the bandwidth and recoil of the solitons are tuned directly by the acousto-optic modulator of the system. We have demonstrated that this technique provides more direct and concise feedback and reduces the complexity and cost of the system.

Abstract:We propose an alternative way to enhance optical nonlinearity from nanocomposites containing nonlinear bimetallic nanostructures. The optical nonlinearity enhancement result from two aspects: firstly, both core and shell are metallic material with large nonlinearity themselves; secondly, there are two resonant frequencies for core-shell nanostructures, which are helpful to strengthen the local fields in the core and shell. By fine adjustment of the core-shell size ratio, it is possible to achieve the maximal enhancement of optical nonlinearity from bimetallic coated nanocomposites.

Abstract:We mainly investigate four generated four-wave-mixing (FWM) signals, second- and fourth-order fluorescence (FL) signals simultaneously in a cascade three-level atomic system of sodium, in which the dual-electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) windows are used to enable the transparency of the generated FWM signals. The moving and immobile two-photon dressing effects on the FWM and multi-order FL signals as well as the interaction of dressing effects are studied. Furthermore, we investigate the spontaneous parametric FWM (SP-FWM) signal and spatial images of the transmitted probe signal modulated by cross-Kerr nonlinearities effect of dressing field both experimentally and theoretically. The study may find applications in all-optical control.

Abstract:Under investigation in this paper is a $(3+1)$-dimensional coupled nonlinear Schr"{o}dinger system, which describes the dynamics of solitons formed by the pulse envelopes respectively along the orthogonal fast and slow birefringence axes in the bulk Kerr and saturable media in nonlinear optical fibres. Via the symbolic computation and Hirota method, analytic bright one- and dark one-soliton solutions for such a system are obtained. Graphic description of the soliton properties is illustrated. Through the analysis on bright and dark one-soliton properties, it can be found that the bright soliton amplitude and dark soliton width depend on the index of refraction: when the value of the index of refraction increases, bright soliton amplitude become larger and dark soliton width become larger.

Abstract:Optical rogue waves in a nonlinear graded-index waveguidewith variable coefficients are studied. An exact rogue wave solution on Gaussianbackground beam is presented, in contrast to the previous studies about rogue waves on plane wave background. It is shown that the characteristics of rogue wavesare maintained on Gaussianbackground beam, even that the beam's width is a bit smaller than the rogue waves scale. These results may raise the possibility of relatedexperiments and potential applications in nonlinear optics.

Abstract:We demonstrate the seeded spontaneous parametric four-wave mixing (SP-FWM) process associating with the fluorescence signals of Pr3+:YSO both theoretically and experimentally. For the first time, the dressed SP-FWM processes are observed by self-dressing and/or external-dressing in this crystal. Various possible amplification processes are discussed by selectively seeding various multi-wave mixing (MWM) signals. Two contributions of the dressing effect and the dipole-dipole interaction to the linewidths of SP-FWM signal and the conjugate signal of the seeding MWM signal associating with fluorescence signal have been distinguished. In addition, the Autler-Townes-like (or Autler-Townes) splitting effect of fluorescence spectrum induced by itself (or external) field and the mutual interaction between two fluorescence signals are investigated which are well explained using the presented theoretical model. Such results can find potential applications in all-optical communication and optical information processing on photonic chip.

Abstract:For the first time, we report all-optically controlled fourth- and sixth-order fluorescence processes with and without splitting, in a heteronuclear-like molecule system of Pr3+:YSO both in theory and experiment. We construct the asymptote among Pr3+ ions localized at different cation vacancies. By changing the frequency detuning and power of the controlling field, fluorescence signal can be controlled to switch from an enhanced peak to a suppressed dip, and vise versa. Such transition has a potential application to produce all-optical switches. The results can be well explained by a theory model based on the high-order coherent process.

Abstract:We present a numerical investigation of the pump to signal relative intensity noise (RIN) transfer characteristics both in the single-pump and dual-pump parametric amplifier inside silicon waveguides in the presence of nonlinear losses. Moreover, the influences of the related parameters in SOPA on the gain and the pump-to-signal RIN transfer characteristics are also discussed. As a result, appropriate free-carrier lifetime and high-power pump sources with low RIN value are required for a low-noise SOPA.

Abstract:We have introduced a class of spiraling elliptic solitons in generic nonlocal nonlinear media. The spiraling elliptic solitons carry the orbital angular momentum. This class solitons are stable for any degree of nonlocality except for the local case when the response function of the material is Gaussian function.
