	Abstract:Flower-like Au-TiO2 core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by a facile and high-yield hydrothermal method in which gold NPs were used as cores and TiF4 was used as precursor. A series of characterizations were carried out to examine the morphology, crystallinity, and composition of the nanostructures. The Au-TiO2 core-shell NPs exhibit uniform flower-like morphology, porous TiO2 shells, and strong surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption band in the visible light region. Hence, compared with the hollow TiO2 NPs, the Au-TiO2 core-shell NPs exhibited greatly improved photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methylene blue under visible light irradiation. Such enhancement can be ascribed to the resonant energy transfer and direct electron transfer between TiO2 and Au parts in the core-shell nanostructures. We believe that such plasmonic photosensitizers based on this enhancement mechanism would offer much more flexibility for designing solar energy materials, photocatalysts and other optoelectronic devices.

	Abstract:The novel Bi2O2(BO2OH)/BiIO4 heterojunction was successfully synthesized via a facile one-step hydrothermal method. Its characters were detected by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance (DRS). Photocayalytic activity was measured by decomposition of Rhodamine B (RhB) under UV-light irradiation. Compared with Bi2O2(BO2OH), BiIO4 and P25, 35 wt% BiIO4/Bi2O2(BO2OH) exhibits much better performance for degradation. This significant enhancement of degradation dye and prohibitive electron-hole pairs’ recombination should be ascribed to overlapping conduction band and valence band structure.

	3. The generalized phase modulation optimization method for LCOS with an arbitrary twisted angle used in wave-front correction

	Abstract:Based on the 2×2 Jones matrix method, we investigated theoretically the phase modulation characteristics of a reflective liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) device with any twisted angles. The optimized range of phase-only modulation was obtained with the reflectivity variation lower than 10%. In addition, phase modulation characteristic of the LCOS with the 45-degree's LC twisted angle on a Zygo interferometer was presented. Based on the optimized phase modulation result for the LCOS, the experiment of the real-time closed loop correction for the dynamic aberrated wave-front was conducted to validate our theoretical simulation. The results show that on the area of 19.5 mm×14.6mm the peak to valley (PV) value is up to 0.082λ, RMS up to 0.015λ, and the closed loop bandwidth is 4Hz.

	Abstract:Spatial coherence is of increasing interest for many laser applications such as lithography, material processing and beam coherence combination etc. The method to determine the parameters of spatial coherence by using Wigner distribution of laser beam is discussed carefully. The measurement of Wigner distribution and some experimental results was discussed in detail.

	Abstract:Nanosecond ultraviolet photovoltaic effects are observed in MgO single crystals at ambient temperature without any bias. The rise time is about 10 ns and the full width at half maximum is about 20 ns when the surfaces of MgO single crystals are irradiated by 248 nm KrF laser pulses. The experimental results show that MgO single crystals may be potential in ultraviolet photodetectors.

	Abstract:The visual quality of human eye is not only limited by objective aberrations, but also suffers from neural processing and subjective perception, both objective and subjective method are needed for the measurement of human eye’s wavefront aberration. We have built an optical setup to integrate the two methods in a system. Then the result datum from both objective measurement and subjective measurement is fused on feature level by information fusion method with the weighting factors, which is helpful to emphasize the advantages of both subjective and objective measurement, can give more detailed advices for ideal corneal customized ablation of human eye.
