Abstract:The seismoelectric field excited by purely torsional loading applied directly to the borehole wall is considered. A brief formulation and some computed waveforms show the advantage of using SH-TE seismoelectric waves logging to measure shear velocity in a fluid-saturated porous formation. By assuming the acoustic field is not influenced by its induced electromagnetic field due to seismoelectric effect, the coupling governing equations for electromagnetic field are reduced to Maxwell equations with a propagation current source. It shows this simplification is valid and the borehole seismoelectric conversion efficient is mainly dependent on the electrokinetic coupling coefficient. The receivers to detect the conversion electromagnetic field and obtain shear velocity can be set in the borehole fluid in SH-TE seismoelectric waves log.

Abstract:This paper investigates the relationship of resonance sound absorption frequency between perforated panel and thin plate. Classical theory believed that the perforated panel and thin plate have different sound absorption principle and the formula to calculate resonance sound absorption frequency have been deduced from different way, inevitably, they are unlike for their equation express. However, it is discovered that the two formulas can be equaled to each other for the common materials used in practice. The two formulas have been examined and deduced being equal when the density and thickness of materials are below 8 and above 0.1mm. respectively.
