Abstract:This paper considers the moments-type estimation of bivariate extreme value copulas. Usually the inference on an extreme value copulaproceeds via its Pickands dependence function. In this paper a new estimation method for the Pickands dependence function is proposed based on link functions, which can be treated as an extension of the existing nonparametric estimates. The finite sample performance is investigated by simulation studies, and the maximum weekend car speed data registered at two given locationsis analyzed via parametric method and our proposed method.

Abstract:In this paper, an inference procedure is proposed for partially linearvarying coefficient quantile models with longitudinal data where somemeasurement of the response are censored by fixed constants. The nonparametricfunctional coefficients are approximated by splines. A hypothesis testing procedure is proposed to test whether somelinear covariates are noninformative. The proposed procedures can be easily implemented, andno specification of the error distribution is needed. Finite sample performance of the proposed proceduresis assessed by Monte Carlo simulation studies. The proposedmethodology is illustrated by an analysis of AIDS clinical trialdataset.

Abstract:In the literature, there exists much work on sample ranges from exponential distributions. It is well known that the geometric distribution is the discrete counterpart of exponential distribution. However, there is no any result on sample ranges so far. In this paper, we investigate the likelihood ratio order of sampleranges arising from geometric distribution. Specifically, it is shown that, if the weak majorization order holds between the two parameter vectors, then the likelihood ratio order holds between the corresponding geometric sample ranges. This result established here actually corresponds to the exponential case.

Abstract:Upon being infected with HIV, the human beings will tend to lose CD4 + T lymphocytes while there will be an increase in CD8 + T lymphocytes. Therefore, it is believed that the concentration of CD4,CD8 cells and the viral load in plasma are extremely important indicators for clinical detection and treatment of AIDS. Therefore, depending on CD4 cell, CD8 cell counts and virus load in the body at the beginning of treatment (ability to resist viral infection and intensity of infection of patients), we classified 22 AIDS patients and analyzed the rehabilitation levels of different classes of patients during the treatment process. Further, grey prediction is offered assess and evaluate the development of antiretroviral treatment, and then tested the rationale of forecast by using residual analysis.

Abstract:Ovarian cancer is one of the most deadly female genital malignant tumors in many regions while an effective early screening strategy can save numerous lives. CA125 and HE4 are tumor markers validated efficacious as well as most commonly used in recent screening research of ovarian cancer. In this paper, we constructed a changepoint and mixture model on the basis of longitudinal CA125 and HE4 levels and estimated parameters using maximum likelihood method with the preclinical duration assumed right-censored, which is more adaptive and yields comparable results in comparison to the Bayesian approach raised by Skates. Consistency of estimators are proved. We also ran a 5-year simulation of sequential screening by calculating the risk of cancer and hypothesis testing the true incidence time respectively. Results show that diagnosis based on hypothesis test performs better in early detection.

Abstract:The mortality of ovarian cancer is higher than any other female genital malignant tumors, while there exists a strong correlation between early-stage detection and cure for it.CA125 and HE4 are two most common and effective serum markers in recent screening research of ovarian cancer. Therefore, in the context of screening for ovarian cancer, this paper has derived a sequential screening strategy, based on the longitudinal CA125 and HE4 levels using a Bayesian hierarchical changepoint and mixture model and constructing two methods for diagnosis by calculating the risk of cancer and hypothesis testing the true incidence time respectively. The simulation of a 7-year sequential screening research and the comparison to the standard approach based on a fixed cutoff level show that the sequential approach will achieve a around 15% higher sensitivity for a fixed specificity, which indicates that the sequential strategy will be more effective in the early-stage detection of ovarian cancer.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the problem of optimal reinsurance and investmentin a multiple risky assets market with appreciation rate driven by a hiddenMarkov chain. The surplus of the insurance company is modeled by a Brownianmotion with drift and the objective function is the expected exponential utility. Byusing the filtering theory, we establish the separation principle and reduce the problemto the complete observed case. Through the dynamic programming approach andthe Girsanov change of measure, we characterize the value function as the uniqueviscosity solution of a linear parabolic partial differential equation and obtain theFeynman-Kac representation of the value function.

Abstract:Structural equation model has become a very popular data-analytic technique. It is widely applied in Psychology and Sociology as well as other fields, especially in Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) model, which was required by a series of ISO9000 criterions. Many papers focus on the extension of the SEM, such as multi-level SEM, multi-group SEM and nonlinear SEM. Having proposed the generalized linear model with a convex constraint, we may discuss multi-group SEM using our method in this paper. Distributed computing is a new kind of computing technology for complex scientific calculation which accompanied by the rapid development of Internet technology. In the modern times, the study fields cover many disciplines and involve many sectors, and the classifications are appropriately. And each of the subjects seems to have required a large amount of calculation. Distributed computing, considering its unique advantages-cheap and efficient, has attracted the concern of the society.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a risk process in which claim inter-arrival times have an Erlang(2) distribution, and the risk model is considered in the presence of a constant barrier. An integro-differential equation for the Gerber-Shiu function is derived and solved. We show that its solution can be expressed as the solution to the Gerber-Shiu discounted penalty function in the same risk model without barrier and a combination of two linearly independent solutions to the associated homogeneous integro-differential equation.

Abstract:This paper studies the dynamic evolution of the lower tail dependence copula (LTDC) of Archimedean Copula. We also obtain some sufficient conditions to preserve the concordance order under LTDC transformations. Some numerical measurements such as Kendall's $tau$ and lower tail dependence coefficient of LTDC are evaluated as well.
