Abstract:In this work, through the three-point bending, the mechanical properties of metal honeycomb sandwich structure were analyzed theoretically under room and high temperature environment. The numerical simulations of this structure were carried with the finite element software. The simulation results were well agreed with the experiment results. The results show that the honeycomb sandwich structure which brazed by carbon steel under the three-bending experiments, the L direction specimen were 10% stronger than W direction specimen. The shear strength of honeycomb core was enhanced, but still satisfied the shear strength requirements. Then based on the method of equal rigidity, with the same length, width, and different equal height, the sandwich structure was equaled to a solid panel, and the honeycomb sandwich structure was lighter than the equivalent panel. Finally the optimization design of the metal honeycomb sandwich structure was accomplished by finite element analysis, under the premise of the strength and stiffness satisfied, the optimal solution of the weight was obtained. The minimum weight's geometry of the metal honeycomb sandwich structure was gained. | |||
