Abstract:In this paper, a distributed feedback control strategyis proposed which drives the multiple nonholonomic unicycles to a desiredrigid formation in terms of the relative position measurement. The proposed control law which is based on the adaptive perturbation methodcan guarantee the globally asymptotic stability of the the equilibrium setcorresponding to the desired rigid formations, and the collision avoidance between neighboring realrobots. Simulation results are provided to illustrate theeffectiveness of the control algorithm.

Abstract:Consensus algorithm, which is constructed by introducing compensation on the neighboring agents' delayed states into the normal asynchronously-coupled consensusalgorithm, is proposed to solve the dynamical consensus problem of discrete-time second-ordermulti-agent systems with communication delay. By analyzing the consensus convergence of two coupled-agents according to frequency-domain analysis, we come to the conclusion that the compensation-based algorithm can endure higher communication delay than thesynchronously-coupled consensus algorithm. Based on linear fractional transformation and the small-gaintheorem, sufficient conditions are gained for discrete-time second-order multi-agent systems with communicationdelay under a general digraph. Simulation illustrates the correctness of the results.

Abstract:A novel frequency-doubling optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) based on stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and double sideband with suppressed carrier (DSB-SC) modulation is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. A polarization modulator (PolM) in combination with an optical polarizer realizes DSB-SC modulation generating a frequency-doubling signal, and the SBS effect provides a gain to amplify optical carrier which ensure a fundamental frequency signal be recovered to keep oscillating in the OEO. In the experiment, the frequency-doubled 6, 9.976 and 20.062 GHz microwave signal are generated.

Abstract:In wireless communication networks, the cooperative communication performance depends on careful resource allocation. This paper considers the problem of resource sharing among selfish nodes in wireless cooperative networks. In the system, each node can act as a source as well as a potential relay, and both nodes are willing to achieve an extra rate increase by jointly adjusting their channel bandwidth and power levels for cooperative relaying. First, a two-user algorithm is proposed to bargain joint bandwidth and power allocation(JBPA) between two users. Then a multiuser bargaining algorithm is developed based on the Hungarian method. NBS is applied to formulate the JBPA problem to guarantee fairness. And, the optimal coalitions are formed by using the Hungarian method, such that the overall network rate increase is also maximized for multiple users. Simulation results indicate the Nash bargaining solution(NBS) resource sharing is fair and the fairness of resource allocation only depends on how much contribution its partner can make to its rate increase. Meanwhile, the proposed algorithm has fast convergence to the optimum and the multiuser bargaining algorithm can guarantee fairness between cooperative partner, but also maximize the overall network rate increase.

Abstract:Unintentionally doped GaN films grown by MOCVD were irradiated with neutron at room temperature. In order to investigate the influence of neutron irradiation, persistent photoconductivity (PPC) and low temperature photoluminescence (PL) measurements were carried out. Pronounced PPC is observed, and yellow luminescence (YL) band is not be detected by PL measurement at 5K, suggesting that PPC and YL are not related. Moreover, PPC phenomena has been enhanced by neutron irradiation and quenched by the followed annealing process at 900 C. The possible origin of PPC in GaN is discussed.

Abstract:This paper introduces a design method for k-band (18-26.5 GHz) LNA with best noise performance. Then a k-band LNA is designed following the design method in 65-nm CMOS mixed signal process. The LNA has a peak gain of 20.46 dB at 22.45 GHz and a 3 dB bandwidth of 3.8 GHz. The S11 is better than -11 dB and S22 better than -15 dB across the band. The measured smallest noise figure (NF) is 3.4 dB. The whole chip consumes 11mA current under 1.1V supply voltage and occupies an area of 710 μm × 540 μm.

Abstract:In this paper, we address the adaptive Neural Network tracking control problem of switched nonlinear system with non-minimum phase subsystem based on RBF Neural Network. The proposed controller is comprised of a neural network adaptive law, an adaptive robust control term, and switching path. The approximation errors of the RBF neural networks are introduced to the design of the neural network adaptive law, while the switching path is designed by using the principle of "energy attenuation fastest". The proposed adaptive neural switching control scheme can guarantee that non-minimum phase switched nonlinear system can asymptotically track the desired reference signal.

Abstract:Direct generation of higher-order Ince-Gaussian (IG) beams from laser-diode end-pumped Cr,Nd:YAG self-Q-switched microchip laser was achieved with high efficiency and high repetition rate. Average output power over 2 W was obtained with absorbed pump power of 8.2 W, corresponding optical-to-optical efficiency of 25% was achieved. Various IG modes with nanosecond pulse width and peak power of over 2 kW level were obtained in laser-diode pumped Cr,Nd:YAG microchip lasers under different pump power levels by applying titled, large area pump beam. The effect of the inversion population distribution induced by the titled pump beam and nonlinear absorption of Cr4+-ions on the oscillation of higher-order IG modes in Cr,Nd:YAG microchip lasers were addressed. The effect of higher-order IG mode oscillation on the laser performance of Cr,Nd:YAG microchip lasers was also discussed.

Abstract:In digital image forensic, resampling detection is a very useful tool because of the common use of resampling in digital image processing. In this paper a new resampling detection algorithm is proposed which explores the periodicity among the rows or columns of the images. The core of the proposed algorithm is the use of correlation coefficients based on the observation that the correlation coefficients of the adjacent rows or columns is periodic in resampled images. In some images, the image contents also show periodicity, which will interfere the detection of resampling. Some measures are taken to reduce that interference. As experiments show, the proposed algorithm is more robust than prior algorithm and shows better results, especially when detecting images which have been through nearest interpolation or resized by ratio 2.0.

Abstract:This paper presents an analytical study on the outage performance of amplify-and-forward (AF) two-way relay system with multi-antenna relay node (RN).Two major bidirectional protocols, i.e., two time slots multiple access broadcast (MABC) protocol and three time slots time division broadcast (TDBC) protocol, are considered respectively. For both considerations, we first assume that instantaneous channel-state-information (CSI) is unavailable at RN, thus RN just simply uses the fixed relay gain derived from statistical CSI to scalethe received signals before forwarding. We then consider the scenario where RN can obtainthe instantaneous CSI to perform the zero-forcing (ZF) relayprecoding. The closed-form expressions ofoutage probability are derived for all cases.Based on these expressions, the diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is further obtained for the MABC protocol. The analytical results show that, for non-precoding MABC scheme, the diversity order of 1 can only be obtainedand it is irrelevant to the relay antenna number M. While for theZF-precoding case, the diversity order of M-1 can be obtained.
