	Abstract:Fingerprint recognition system consist of image preprocessing, features extraction and features matching that runs effectively and accurately on personal computer. The image preprocessing includes noise removal, histogram equalization, global thresholding and ridgeline thinning which are necessary for the features extraction. Extracted features are then stored in a file for fingerprint matching. Matching algorithm presented here is a simple, fast and accurate. Experimental results for matching are accurate, reliable and fast for implementation using a personal computer and fingerprint reader. The proposed fingerprint algorithm can provide an effective way of automated identification and can be extended to other security or identification applications. Further the algorithm can be implanted on a FPGA platform for a real time personal automated identification system.

	2. Improved DCT-domain Color Image Enhancement through Anisotropic Diffusion

	Abstract:Color image enhancement directly in the DCT domain is an efficient approach in high speed data transmission. However, such methods often suffer from blocking artifact due to inappropriate scaling between adjacent blocks. We propose an improved method based on anisotropic diffusion that overcomes this difficulty. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively remove blocking artifact introduced during the DCT coefficient scaling stage, resulting in much improved performance over some of state of the art methods.

	Abstract:Digital image compression and code technology is to resolve the problem that large image information in the transmission .This paper’s fractal Code algorithm is based on the IFS, passes a programming, in the Matlab7.0 environment, takes the minimal different pixel area piece respectively to the same image, realizes the code compressing code compromise to its mark shape, and then gets their decipher image respectively, analyses reasons for different results. From the theoretical analysis,fractal image compression and code technology has a great advantage to improve the image’s compression ratio and the decoding time is very little ,it is also conducive to enhance the speed of communication,its biggest drawback is that compression time is very long, needs for further improvement.

	4. Step Projection-Based Spread Transform Dither Modulation

	Abstract:Quantization Index Modulation is an important class of watermark methods, which has been widely used in blind watermark applications. And it is well known that spread transform dither modulation (STDM), as an extension of QIM, has good performance in robustness to random noise and re-quantization. However, the quantization step sizes used in STDM are random numbers which didn’t take the image’s feature into account. In this paper, we proposed a step projection-based STDM algorithm, which applies a novel way to incorporate the modified perceptual model with STDM framework. Experimental results indicate that our proposed scheme fixes up the weakness of the original STDM, the excessive sensitivity to valumetric scaling, successfully. Meanwhile, the robustness of STDM to Salt&Pepper Noise has been improved by a large scale. Compared with the former proposed modified schemes of STDM, our proposed scheme has considerable advantages, especially on robustness to random noise and JPEG compression.

	5. Digital Sealing Based on Double Watermarks

	Abstract:By integrating adaptive robust watermark and simplified fragile watermark, a digital sealing scheme is proposed. The digital seal, which resembles conventional one, shows robustness against attacks like Gaussian noise, median filtering, JPEG compression and cropping. Furthermore, any modification of the seal can be detected. Consequently, the digital sealing technique fulfills the purposes of confidentiality, authentication, integrity and non-repudiation.

	6. New Adaptive Demosaicking Methods Based on Color Difference for Bayer Color Filter Array

	Abstract:Single-chip digital cameras use color filter arrays (CFA) to sample different color component. So demosaicking algorithms to complete RGB values is necessary. In this paper, we introduce the data adaptive filtering concept, exploit it for demosaicking, and finally propose a novel demosaicking algorithm for Bayer color filter array. Using a different function mapping, we adopt the color difference model, predict the color difference value at the R/B location and then update it. Through the refined color difference value, we first interpolate the full G channel, and then recover R and B channels. The efficiency of the proposed approach is demonstrated by experimental results with simulated and real data. It not only performs the high quality of our approach visually but also has a notably lower computational cost.

	7. Performance Analysis of Sign Quantized Projection

	Abstract:Quantized projection technology (QP) is the version of quantization index modulation (QIM) working in the projection domain, and has been successfully applied in the watermarking literature, due to its good detection performance. It essentially belongs to a double-sided additive embedder. In this letter, we propose the concept of sign quantized projection (SQP), which differs from the conventional QP in working as a single-sided embedder. Theoretical analysis reveals that SQP has the same probability of miss and probability of false alarm as QP, and in the meanwhile the document-to-watermark ratio (DWR) of SQP is less than its counterpart of QP by 10lg(1+r).

	Abstract:In this letter, we propose the concept of dynamic distortion-compensated quantization index modulation (dynamic DC-QIM), which differs from the conventional DC-QIM in whether or not quantization step size and distortion-compensated (DC) parameter are changeable. After deriving the condition justifying the reversibility of dynamic DC-QIM, we successfully utilize it to design a specific procedure of reversible data hiding algorithm. Its data hiding rate can achieve as high as 1bpp in a single iteration, higher than its former counterparts. Experimental results show that it has the ability to both decode the secret information and restore the original object accurately regardless of initial conditions. Furthermore, the use of dynamic characteristic is in favor of preventing its parameters from being disclosed.

	Abstract:Audio information play important role in speaker identification and semantic based video content analysis, indexing and retrieval. Sometimes, audio clues are dominant in determining the story unit types. In this paper, a new temporal spectral feature including the proposed spectral histogram is integrated for audio content classification. By analysis the temporal spectral distribution, we adaptively determine the effective feature vectors for audio content discrimination. Finally, several one class support vector machine (SVM) are used to classify each audio clip into following five types: silence, pure music, pure speech, speech with noise background (Speech+Noise), and speech with music background (Speech+Music). Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

	10. Implementation of iLBC Codec Algorithm on DSP

	Abstract:This thesis is to investigate the ILBC codec algorithm and expects to implement ILBC codec on a fixed-point digital signal processor.Due to the limited resource of the DSP chip. The implementation was in two steps, first make the floating point to fixed-point conversion in C with optimization. Then translate the C to DSP assembly codes. In the process, three level of optimization was made, the algrithrom level, the Fixed Pointed C level, and the assembly language level. Each Level had made great contribution to improve the performance of the fixed point implementation of the codec. Finally, the optimized assembly codes are successfully used in AR1688 based VOIP devices, satisfying the real-time needs.
