1. Narrow Hyper Imaginary Number and Generalized Hyper Imaginary Number

Show/Hide Abstract | Cite this paper︱Full-text: PDF (0 B)
Abstract:On the basis of the traditional imaginary number, the author puts forward the concept of narrow hyper imaginary number and generalized hyper imaginary number. It gives a new terse form like traditional imaginary number. Although it is just the advance of the concept, its meaning is very significant. Its characteristics need further study. Especially the problem of infinite is also discussed. Because of the complexity of infinite, it still is a difficulty in the domain of mathematics. In this paper, the author only gives elementary thinking about infinite. Infinite may be regarded as a set and every element in this set has a limit tending to infinity. The concept of natural infinite also be put forward on basis of it. Of course it is just a elementary idea and needs futher study.

Abstract:We survey our achievements on the classification of congruence classes of presentations for the finite complex reflection groups. The classification is described in terms of certain graphs for the imprimitive groups, and is based on the computer programmes for the primitive groups.

Abstract:Let R be a ring and A an $\beta\times\alpha$ matrix over R, where $\alpha$ and $\beta$ are two card numbers. We investigate some homological properties of modules over R by matrices. Thus, $(\alpha, \beta)$-injective (resp., $(\alpha, \beta)$-flat) modules and $(\alpha, \beta)$-coherent rings are introduced and investigated. Some known results on generalized injective (resp., projective, flat) modules as well as ($\pi$-)coherent rings are extended.

Abstract:In this paper, electromagnetic scattering by an infinite conducting cylinder coated with left-handed material (LHM) for an incident wave of a line source is derived rigorously by using a boundary value mode-matching approach. The numerical calculations demonstrate the improved directivity of the electromagnetic scattering by such a cylindrical structure, due to the negative refraction phenomenon of the LHM. The far-field radiation pattern and its frequency dependence exhibit the possible application of the LHM in directive antenna technique.

Abstract:The synthesis of optically active (R)-2-trimethylsilyl-2-hydroxyl-ethylcyanide by asymmetric transcyanation of acetyltrimethylsilane with acetone cyanohydrin in a biphasic system was achieved using (R)-oxynitrilase from loquat seed meal. Diisopropyl ether was the most suitable organic phase among the organic solvents examined. The optimal concentration of acetyltrimethylsilane, concentration of crude enzyme, volume ratio of the aqueous to the organic phase, temperature and the buffer pH value were 14 mM, 61.4 U/ml, 13% (v/v), 30 ℃ and 4.0, respectively. The substrate conversion and the product enantiomeric excess were 95% and 98% under the optimized conditions. Acetyltrimethylsilane was a better substrate of the enzyme than its carbon counterpart.

Abstract:Dipolar cycloaddition of (diisopropoxyphosphoryl) nitrile oxide with vinylphosphonate leads to the formation of isoxazoles bearing two or three phosphoryl groups, and with phosphaalkyne provides a phosphabiisoxazole bearing two phosphoryl groups.

Abstract:Two new coordination polymers, [M(phen)(e,a-cis-1,4-chdc)(H2O)]n (1, M = Mn; 2, M = Cu; chdc = 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), were prepared under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by IR spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. X-ray crystal structural analyses reveal that 1 and 2 are isomorphic and belong to the monoclinic system. C20H20MnN2O5, P2(1)/c, a = 10.235(2) Å, b = 8.9134(19) Å, c = 20.466(4) Å, b = 99.820(3)°, Z = 4 for 1; and C20H20CuN2O5, P21/c, a = 10.002(3) Å, b = 8.949(2) Å, c = 20.270(5) Å, b = 99.694(3)° Z = 4 for 2. In the structures of 1 and 2, the 1,4-chdc ligand possesses only one kind of e,a-cis conformation although there are both cis- and trans-conformations in the raw material.

Abstract:Chloroformylation of 5,5-dimethyl-1,2-oxathiolan-4-one 2,2-dioxide 4 with Vilsmeier reagent (DMF/POCl3) led to the formation of cyclic b-chlorovinylaldehyde (4-chloro-5,5-dimethyl-3-formyl-1,2-oxathiolene 2,2-dioxide 5). Compound 5 reacted with formamidine, o-amino-phenol, phthalamine, amino-pyrazole and amino-tetrazole to give the corresponding heterocyclic compounds.

Abstract:A novel purification method is proposed to remove trace silicon impurity from aluminum tri-isopropoxide. By interacting a lanthanide-metal complex with the silicon impurity in aluminum tri-isopropoxide, an involatile silicon-containing compound is formed. After a vacuum distillation the silicon content in aluminum tri-isopropoxide can be reduced from 16 ppm to less than 2.6 ppm. The purification process was described and discussed.

10. Reactivities of Naphthalene and Its Derivatives toward Hydroconverison

Abstract:Hydroconversion of naphthalene (NpH) and its derivatives, i. e., 1-methylnaphthalene (1-MN), di(1-naphthyl)methane (DNM) and 1,2-di(1-naphthyl)ethane (DNE) were carried out under 5 MPa of initial hydrogen pressure at 300 oC. The results show that the reactivities of the substrates decrease in the order DNM > DNE > NpH > 1-MN toward activated carbon-catalyzed hydroconversion. The hydrogenation of NpH only yielded tetralin. Two tetrahydro products were observed from 1-MN hydrogenation, but the selectivity of 5-methyltetralin was higher than that of 1-methyltetralin. DNM hydroconversion mainly afforded NpH and 1-MN along with small amouts of hydrogenated di(1-naphthyl)methanes. While the reaction of DNE predominantly produced hydrogenated 1,2-di(1-naphthyl)ethanes rather than decomposition products. The difference in reactivities of NpH and its derivatives can be attributed to their different molecular structures.
