Abstract:The thresholds of modulation instability (MI) in the 25 km, 50 km and 75 km single-mode fibers (SMFs) are investigated by analyzing the MI spectra. They decrease with the effective fiber length and agree with the theoretical values. It is found that the saturation power of MI does not change with the fiber length and is fixed at 136 mW for the three fibers. However, the maximum conversion efficiency of MI depends on effective fiber length. It is revealed that the 15 km and 20 km effective lengths correspond to the maximum conversion efficiency of 50% and 65%. The results provide guidance for the practical applications of long-haul fiber sensing systems.

Abstract:In order to improve the resolution of laser Doppler interferometer, the noise of the system need to be suppressed. Through the analysis of the influence of laser relaxation oscillation mixing with signals in phase generated carrier (PGC) demodulation, we can get a conclusion that the low-frequency part of the laser intensity noise have a greater impact on the signal to noise ratio of PGC demodulation. By using Optoelectronic negative feedback method, we can achieve effective suppression of the low-frequency laser intensity noise and laser relaxation oscillation peak, which reduce the influence of the mixing of the light source intensity noise, and the system signal to noise ratio (SNR) is improved.

Abstract:A novel up-converting phosphor, NaxAlyFx+3y/CaF2 (0.3﹤x﹤0.5, 0﹤y﹤0.1) composite, is prepared by a hydrothermal process at 180 ℃ and an annealing treatment at 500 ℃. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern indicates that NaxAlyFx+3y/CaF2 is a composite consisting of NaF, Na3AlF6, and CaF2. The up-conversion luminescence properties of this phosphor are investigated by fluorescence spectrometer. Results show that NaxAlyFx+3y/CaF2 exhibits visible-to-ultraviolet up-conversion luminescence properties. The emission peaks at 316 and 336 nm are observed when excited by 610 nm, the luminescence lifetime of the emissions is great than 18 ms, and the internal fluorescence quantum yield is 4.2 %. Additionally, the luminescent mechanism of this phosphor is also mentioned.

Abstract:Spatial quantum optics and quantum information based on the high order transverse mode are of importance for the super-resolution measurement beyond the quantum noise level. We demonstrated experimentally the transverse plane TEM01 Hermite-Gauss quantum squeezing. The squeezed TEM01 mode is generated in a degenerate optical parametric amplifier with the nonlinear crystal of periodically poled KTiOPO4. The level of 2.2dB squeezing is measured using a spatial balance homodyne detection system.

Abstract:Based on the 2×2 Jones matrix method, we investigated theoretically the phase modulation characteristics of a reflective liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) device with any twisted angles. The optimized range of phase-only modulation was obtained with the reflectivity variation lower than 10%. In addition, phase modulation characteristic of the LCOS with the 45-degree's LC twisted angle on a Zygo interferometer was presented. Based on the optimized phase modulation result for the LCOS, the experiment of the real-time closed loop correction for the dynamic aberrated wave-front was conducted to validate our theoretical simulation. The results show that on the area of 19.5 mm×14.6mm the peak to valley (PV) value is up to 0.082λ, RMS up to 0.015λ, and the closed loop bandwidth is 4Hz.

Abstract:Based on the force balance equation, the electron mobility in strained wurtzite AlGaN/GaN heterojunctions with finite-thick barriers at and above room temperature is discussed in consideration of the scattering from interface and half-space optical phonons. Considering the effects of ternary mixed crystal, the profile of conduction band and the distribution of two-dimensional electron gas are obtained by solving the Poisson and Schr?dinger equations self-consistently. The results show that the electron mobility increases with the increase of barrier thickness and gradually approaches a saturated value. The results also indicate that the scattering from half-space phonons in the channel plays a dominant role for the Al concentration >0.18 whereas that from the interface phonons is dominant for <0.18 in a heterojunction with a barrier width of 23nm. It is found that the strain and hydrostatic pressure decrease the electron mobility. The Results is compared with experimental data to demonstrate that the strain effect should be considered in the further work.

Abstract:Ultrasonic beam steering is an essential feature while modeling for inspection methodologies and phased array ultrasonic systems. The two methods of modeling beam steering are to model a wedge or use Huygens principle to generate a propagating wave front at the required angle. In this paper, a numerical model for time-domain ultrasonic plane wave for a desired angle is presented. The propagating angle is a function of the time-domain and the distance. The control parameter time is used for steering the beam at the desired angle as well as march at the required temporal discretisation. The single element line sources for plane wave are modeled with a propagating wave front at a desired angle. The ultrasonic beam is modeled using a number of discrete line elements excited without any time-delay.

Abstract:We propose a tripartite scheme for probabilistically teleporting an arbitrary single-qubit state with one-dimensional four-qubit cluster-type state as the quantum channel. In the scheme, Alice and Bob both perform a Bell-state measurement (BSM) on their respective qubit pair in their hands and announce the measurement results via classical communication. With the help of the sender and the controller, the receiver can reconstruct the original state with a certain probability by introducing an auxiliary qubit and making appropriate unitary operations and positive operator-valued measure (POVM). Moreover, the total success probability and classical communication cost of the present scheme are also calculated

9. Bound States for Spin-0 and Spin-1/2 Particles with Vector and Scalar Hyperbolic Tangent and Cotangent Potentials

Abstract:This paper analyzes the relativistic bound states with the direct coupling of a vector and a scalar hyperbolic tangent or cotangent potential, viz V_0 tanh(lambda r) and V_0 (lambda r), for particular under the coupling of V(r)=S(r) for s-wave states. The two kinds of potentials are calculated separately as two cases, the comparison of which reflects elegant correspondence throughout the process. To solve the Klein-Gordon equation(KGE) under such circumstances is the crucial work, which lays the foundation to solve Dirac equation(DE), and manifold variable-transformations lead to an object equation which has the familiar structure of hypergeometric equation. The replacements should be carefully selected, among which the technique of flexible parameter is employed for the crucial simplification. The normalization requirement excludes the other induced function of hypergeometric type as a component of the eigenfunction, and breaks off the regular Gauss function to a polynomial, which gives rise to the energy spectrum. Yet, since its the solution of a sextic algebraic equation, an implicit formalism is employed for simplicity. The case of hyperbolic tangent potential and the hyperbolic cotangent potential share the same structure of the object dynamical equation and energy spectrum, yet their eigenfunctions slightly differ on the induced independent variable via -xi and xi. Whereafter, bound states of Dirac equation(DE) based on the complete set [hatH,hatkappa, hatmathbf J 2,hat J_z] is calculated. The specific coupling manner and $s$-wave condition lead to the identical radial DE with that of KGE, which yields the solution for the up component straightforwardly, and subsequently induces the down component. 10. Klein-Gordon Bound States in Coulombic Vector and Scalar Singular Potentials with Nonvanishing Centrifugal Effect

Abstract:This paper analyzes Klein-Gordon bound states with the direct coupling of Coumlombic vector and scalar singular potentials, viz V(r)=-(hcα)/r and S(r)=-(hcα’)/r with the order α’<α on R,where nonvanishing centrifugal effect is taken into account. To obtain the eigenfunction and energy spectrum, two approaches are put forward, the difference between which origins from the manipulations of the coefficient of the centrifugal term. In the first approach, the induced energy spectrum depends on the complete set of quantum numbers {n,l,m} explicitly; in the second approach this dependence is implicit, but it provides a simpler description of the asymptotic behaviors of the wave function at the infinity for compensation. Except for these differences, those two approaches share the same formulation and are in pleasant correspondence. Variable transformations lead the dynamical equation to a confluent hypergeometric equation, subsequently boundary conditions and normalization requirement abandon Kummer’s function of the second kind as a component of the eigenfunction, and break Kumemer’s function of the first kind off to a polynomial to act as the eigenfunction, which also yields the energy spectrum, analytically and explicitly. Eventually, calculation shows that the degree of degeneracy of the energy levels is n^2, and a brief numerical analysis is performed to explore whether extra constraints on {α,α’} would arise or not to guarantee the existence of bound states.
