Abstract:In this paper, BP neural network was applied to digital recognition system in order to improve the accuracy and reliability of system. For fulfilling the real time and veracity demands of digit recognition, the structure of neural networks is researched. The influence to convergent speed of initial weights is also considered. Based on the successful select of hidden layers and weight initialization functions, this paper realized a digit recognition system based on BP neural network. We have evaluated the performance of system in MATLAB. Experimental results demonstrate that the method works well in recognizing the digit.

Abstract:In this paper, an evolutionary hybrid approach is studied for fault diagnosis and it is applied to classify the loopers faults in hot rolling process. The algorithm called evolutionary KPCA-LSSVM is the combination of genetic algorithm (GA), kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) and Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM), which can obtain better fault recognition rate. Firstly, kernel function concept is introduced, and then GA is used to select the kernel parameter in order to improve the performances of nonlinear feature extraction and fault classification of KPCA-LSSVM method. Secondly, KPCA is used to extract the nonlinear principal features of loopers by adopting the optimal kernel trick to map nonlinearly the data into a feature space and employing the PCA procedure. Thirdly, the nonlinear principal features of loopers are taken as input into a LSSVM to classify the faults of loopers in hot rolling process. The results of contrastive experiments show that the evolutionary KPCA-LSSVM using GA to optimize the kernel parameters can extract fault features associated with the loopers effectively, reduce the computational cost and enhance fault classification properties.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the optimal control of the evolutionary p-Laplacian with the convective boundary condition taking the heat transfer coefficient as the control. We take as our cost functional the L^p-norm of the difference between the temperature attained and the desired temperature. The existence and the stability of the optimal control that minimizes the cost functional are proved.

Abstract:In this paper, the delay-dependent stabilization problem for singular linear time-delay systems is studied by designing a delay-dependent memory state feedback controller which makes the singular linear time-delay systems regular, impulse free and asymptotically stable. Firstly, the lemma of descriptor integral-inequality is derived. Secondly, delay dependent stabilization conditions are established by using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach combined with an descriptor integral-inequality. Thirdly, an LMI based algorithm to design a memory state feedback control that stabilizes the system is provided. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and the availability for the design.

Abstract:This paper investigates the stability of nonlinear Hybrid Dissipative Hamiltonian (HDH) systems with infinite number of switching subsystems, and presents a number of results on the stability analysis for two types of the HDH systems under arbitrary/restricted switching laws. Under a realistic assumption, it is shown that the hybrid systems are stable under arbitrary switching laws. Based on the dissipative Hamiltonian structural properties and the zero-state detectibility of the subsystems, the asymptotical stability under arbitrary/restricted switching laws is then investigated, and several interesting results on the asymptotical stability are proposed for the two types of systems, respectively. Finally, via Hamiltonian realization, the results obtained for the hybrid Hamiltonian systems are applied to more general nonlinear hybrid systems with infinite number of switching subsystems, and several stability results are also presented in this paper. Study on examples with numerical simulations shows that the results obtained in this paper are very practicable in analyzing the stability of hybrid systems with infinite number of switching subsystems.

Abstract:It is very important for power systems to execute emergency control when large disturbances occur in the systems. Based on the principles of switching control, a new switching model is first built for a two-machine power system in this paper. Then, the new model, called switched two-machine power system, is expressed as the form of a switched dissipative Hamiltonian system, and the stability analysis is carried out for the system. Simulations on a two-machine power system show that the new results obtained in this paper are very practicable.

7. Opportunity-Awaiting Control for Discrete-Time Systems: Rectangular Target Area Case

Abstract:In this paper, a new control problem, namely, opportunity-awaiting control problem is proposed and investigated thoroughly for a class of discrete stochastic systems. The main purpose of the opportunity-awaiting control problem is to design a controller, for a system subjected to external stochastic disturbances, such that the following two requirements meet specified admissible values simultaneously: 1) the controlled output resides within a given rectangular target area  for time Tin(residence time); and 2) the controlled output waits outside the area  for time Tout(waiting time). Statistical characteristics for admissible residence time and waiting time are derived with respect to a given rectangular target area, and the relationship between residence time and waiting time is discussed. It is shown that both the residence time and waiting time are determined by the steady-state output variance and the correlation coefficient of the system output. Based on the linear matrix inequality approach, a controller design method is then developed so that the prescribed performance constraints on the residence time, waiting time and poles’ location are satisfied. An illustrative numerical example is included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed design method.

Abstract:Opportunity-Awaiting control (OAC) is a type of stochastic control which constraints the control output within a spatial area, instead of a single point. In this paper, for a class of discrete-time system, OAC with constraint of interval target area under stable stochastic serials with normal distribution is discussed. Formulas of average residence time and average waiting time are derived and the consistency between them is analyzed. The residence time and waiting time are determined by the steady-state output variance and the correlation coefficient of the output. The corresponding control strategy is illustrated based on LMI method.

Abstract:This paper presents two theorems for designing controller to make two independent (chaotic) differential equation systems or two independent (chaotic) discrete systems realize directional partial generalized synchronization (PGS). Two numerical simulation examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed Theorems. A non-symmetric encryption scheme is introduced based on the theorems. It can be expected that our theorems provide new tools for understanding and studying PGS phenomena and information encryption.
