	1. Iterative Association Model for Image Annotation

	Abstract:Information retrieval based on multi-modal data is a challenging research topic. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to associate images and text keywords, which enables automatic image annotation and keyword-based image retrieval. First, the two independent spaces, containing images and text keywords respectively, are related to each other by the parallel projection. Second, the heterogeneous link between multi-modal data is defined as the form of dot product. Consequently, the link between a new data instance and the known data in the other modality can be deduced from the two homogeneous kernels. Finally, an iterative model is proposed to optimize the link and achieve the probability association matrix between the two-modal data. According to the link from images to text keywords, the annotations for images can be achieved; according to the link from text keywords to images, images can be retrieved based on text keywords. Moreover, the proposed approach explores the relationship between multi-modal data in an unsupervised manner. We provide experimental results on the tasks of automatic image annotation and keyword-based image retrieval to show the efficacy of our approach.

	Abstract:Image categorization and annotation with abstract semantics beyond cognitive semantic level is a difficult problem in image understanding. On the other hand, atmospheres semantics of film frames is important to convey the message behind the story. For this abstract attribute, contextual information and domain knowledge besides the traditional content features are more helpful. The domain knowledge is included by the semantic ontology and network structures learnt from data. The contextual information includes film topic, recording time, and audience response. Based on all the metadata, Bayesian networks are employed to fuse metadata and a causal strength is proposed to account for the causation. Finally, we provide extensive experimental results to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed approach.

	Abstract:Using the OmniVision OV7620 CMOS image sensor as photoelectric imaging device, glueless connecting was achieved between the USB2.0 controller CY7C68013A and the sensor by general programmable interface (GPIF). The simple high efficiency and low-cost hardware which be apt for high speed image capture was designed and the software system was also compiled based on the multi-thread technology. The image processing system with acquisition, transmission and display was designed based on the new type CMOS image sensor and USB2.0 controller.

	Abstract:Eigenstructure-based direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms such as Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC), Root-MUSIC, Estimation of Signal Parameters via Rotational Invariance Techniques (ESPRIT), encounter great difficulty in the presence of perfectly correlated incident signals. For an array composed of a number of translational invariant subarrays such as a uniform linear scalar-sensor array, this problem can be solved by spatial smoothing. An array of identically oriented acoustic vector-sensors can be grouped into four coupled subarrays of identical grid geometry, respectively corresponding to the pressure sensors and differently oriented velocity-sensors. These four subarrays are angular invariant dependent only on signals’ direction cosines and an angular smoothing can be exploited for source decorrelation. In this paper, the performance of root-MUSIC incorporated with angular smoothing for correlated source direction finding with an L-shaped acoustic vector-sensor array is analyzed in terms of the overall root mean-square errors (RMSE) of DOA estimates. We derive the analytical expression of the RMSE and compare it with simulation results and that of spatial smoothing for a rectangular pressure-sensor array instead.

	Abstract:The multi-mode coupling theory of a coaxial Bragg reflector is compared with the reported experimental data. Good agreement between the theoretical predication and the experimental observations reported is demonstrated.

	6. Space Time Coding in OFDM based on TCM

	Abstract:Based on the principle of Trellis Code Modulation（TCM）, we suppose a new scheme and Space Time Coding technology in OFDM system. Space time block coding (STBC) is applied as and inner coding to ensure the spatial diversity and TCM as the out coding to obtain coding gain. Simulation is carried on SUI-3 channel model, the method of channel estimation is also improved as well. The results show that the bit error rate (BER) can be great reduce by this improved hybrid scheme, and greater coding gain can be obtained without increase the bandwidth.

	Abstract:A comprehensive theory is presented to analyze the multi-mode coupling in a coaxial Bragg reflector, including the derivation of the coupled equations, the coupling coefficient and the attenuation coefficient of the multi modes. Numerical study illustrates attractive peculiarities of a coaxial Bragg reflector with both the outer wall and the inner rod corrugated: the operating mode can get strong reflectivity and the spurious modes are well suppressed, even if the reflector with large dimensional size operates in higher-order mode at hundreds of GHz.

	Abstract:The quality of service management - QoSM is an important evaluation factor for service management in NGN. To evaluate QoSM efficiently, it is necessary and elementary to define an evaluation metrics and find an evaluation method. First, the evaluation metrics for QoSM based on SLA’s service management contents is proposed. Fuzzy evaluating is a method based on fuzzy mathematics. It is suitable to evaluate an object with many factors which have different infections to the object and interactions to each other. A fuzzy evaluating method to evaluate QoSM based on above evaluation metrics is designed. At last, an example of evaluating is described to illuminate that the fuzzy evaluating method for the QoSM of NGN is useful and correct.

	Abstract:The method to apply antenna selection combined with maximal ratio combining at each transmitter and receiver to realize spatial diversity in the MIMO-OFDM system is investigated in this paper. At the transmitter, the desirable antennas are selected through a set of antennas with the channel state information (CSI). The receive signals are combined with maximal ratio combining (MRC) algorithm at receiver correspondingly. In the end, the simulation is conducted in SUI-3 channel model in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
