Abstract:For Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) powered by Inductively Coupled Power Transfer (ICPT), the location accuracy and control rapidity of the electromagnetic-guided system is not enough due to the nonlinear distribution of the electromagnetic field, the slide between wheels and ground, the inconsistency of the motor speed performance and so on. This paper proposes a four-coil pickup topology for the location accuracy and power pickup, and then designs the adaptive fuzzy PID controller to replace the conventional PID controller for the improvement of the control rapidity. The simulation results show that the new guidance control system has better control performances on the rapidity and stability than the conventional PID control guidance system with two electromagnetic detectors.

Abstract:This paper presents a hybrid discrete particle swarm optimization (PSO) based on estimation of distribution (EDA), named DPSO-EDA, for the task assignment problem (TAAP). EDAs sample new solutions from a probability model which characterizes the distribution of promising solutions in the search space at each generation. The DPSO-EDA incorporates the global statistical information collected from personal best solutions of all particles into the PSO, and therefore each particle has comprehensive learning and search ability. Simulation results on several problem instances show that the DPSO-EDA is better than previous methods.

Abstract:In this paper, a cascade controller is designed and analyzed for a buck converter. The fast inner current loop uses sliding mode control (SMC). The slow outer voltage loop uses the proportional-integral (PI) control. Stability analysis and selection of PI gains are based on the closed-loop error dynamics. The closed-loop system is proven to have a minimum phase structure. The voltage transients due to step changes of input voltage and load resistance are predictable. The controller is validated by a simulation circuit with non-ideal circuit factors. The simulation results show that the reference output voltage is well tracked under system uncertainties or disturbances, confirming the validity of the proposed controller.

Abstract:In the fuel cell engine control system, not only the parameters should be modified on-line, but also the modified parameters can be preserved in case of power failure, so as to restore the previous state when power recovers. Thus the configured EEPROM is just right for implementing the above functions. Serial EEPROM doesn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Abstract:The inclusion measure is one of the most important numerical indexes in fuzzy set theory and can be used in many fields. In this paper, we propose an inclusion measure between general type-2 fuzzy sets. Firstly, we review several definitions of type-2 fuzzy sets, investigate axiomatic definitions that inclusion measures between fuzzy sets need to satisfy and select a definition for the inclusion measure between general type-2 fuzzy sets. Then we propose a new computation formula of the inclusion measure based on the selected definition, and demonstrate its several properties. Finally, we present two examples to explain its calculation and validate its properties. The results show that the proposed inclusion measure is reasonable and reliable for general type-2 fuzzy sets.

Abstract:This letter address a neural network (NN) approach to the estimation of TCP throughput. Trained with typical data samples, a three-layer (3-10-1) NN model is obtained. Then it is tested over a wide range of simulations with NS2. In contrast to the analytical models, our model can better associate the TCP factors, i.e. round trip time, retransmission timeout and the loss event rate, with the throughput. In other words, it can more accurately estimate the TCP throughput. Moreover, as the estimation is done through the fixed neural model, the computation complexity is small. Thus, it is competent for real-time online computing. To validate its application feasibility, we deploy it in the TCP-Friendly Rate Control (TFRC) protocol by replacing its analytical model. The new TFRC has a better performance than the original one over various conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we proposed a nonlinear robust control design for a 3 degree of freedom (DOF) helicopter test-bed which may be subjected to unknown external dis- turbance and contains structure uncertainties. Regulation and tracking control design are proposed for the angles of elevation, pitch and travel axes. Numerical simulation results are provided to illustrate that the proposed con- trollers achieve good performance and the closed loop sys- tems obtain good robustness with respect to system un- certainties and disturbances.

Abstract:A new rate-based congestion control algorithm is developed by using a two-degree-of- freedom Smith predictor for available bit rate (ABR) traffic control over high speed asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks with large propagation delays. An analytical design procedure is given based on the optimization. The nominal setpoint response of the system is decoupled from its disturbance response. The new scheme is simple and transparent in its ability to cope with the performance and robust stability issues of the ABR traffic control system. An anti-windup scheme is also presented to avoid the occurrence of windup.

Abstract:This paper considers synchronization problem of singular hybrid networks with coupled delay. Although, for nonsingular systems with delays, there are a number of synchronization results, the corresponding results for singular systems is still a challenging task, because of the singularity, which is the reason we are not able to utilize the Lyapunov method directly here, make singular systems much more complicated than regular systems. The singular system is regular and impulsive free. A sufficient condition for global synchronization is derived by developing a strict linear matrix inequality (LMI) designed approach. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to show the effective of the proposed conditions.

Abstract:This paper proposes a multiple bio-neurological signals based real time control approach. In this method, raw multiple bio-neurological signals are first extracted and segmented in the pre-processing. The processed bio-neurological signals will be then evaluated by calculating feature parameters of these signals. Since in bio-neurological signals they may be contaminated by various kinds of artifacts, by means of feature parameters of bio-neurological signals, some artifacts of bio-neurological signals can be indicated. In the proposed method, EOG signal is used to generate control signal, and EEG signal is adopted to assist to make judgment about the valid of EOG signal. With the proposed method, a control software platform was constructed and by means of this platform, simulation work was carried out to control the behavior of a robot in real time. The simulation results verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.
