Show/Hide Abstract | Cite this paper︱Full-text: PDF (0 B)
Abstract:In the framework of the topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model we investigate the flavorchanging neutral-current production pp \\to t\\bar{c}h^{0}_{t}at the LHC, which proceeds through the parton level processes gg \\to t\\bar{c}h^{0}_{t}, u\\bar{u} \\to t\\bar{c}h^{0}_{t} and d \\bar{d} \\to t\\bar{c}h^{0}_{t}. We calculate the production rate and present the distributions of the transverse momenta and the invarient mass of the neutral top-higgs. We find that the cross section of pp \\to t\\bar{c}h^{0} _{t} can reach a few hundreds fb in a large part of the allowed parameter space. Considering the main decay mode of top-higgs for m_h_{t} < 2m_{t}, we find that such a production may provide copious events. In case of unobservation, the LHC can set meaningful constraints on the TC2 model.

Abstract:It further introduces the method of using the unitary principle to test the logic of some theories of theoretical physics. As one of the important examples, the non-existence of solution of the system of recurrence relations from a fake Dirac equation is proven in this paper. Also, we use the method of mechanical proving to show the reliability of this pivotal result. It clearly denotes that the corresponding fake Dirac equation has not any real solution, and there is not any formal solution of the fake Dirac equations given in the various related literatures to satisfy the original Dirac equation. Furthermore, it shows that the formal solutions of the fake Dirac equations conceal a basic mathematical contradiction of that one equals zero. Consequently, constructing any new form of the Dirac equation requires great consideration.

Abstract:We investigate the conservation law of energy-momentum in teleparallel gravity by using general Noether theorem. The energy-momentum current has also superpotential and is therefore identically conserved. The total energy-momentum, which includes the contributions of both matter and gravitational fields, is given by the integral of scalar densities over a three-dimensional spacelike hypersurface. As an example, the universe in teleparallel gravity is investigated. It is shown that the total energy-momentum vanishes independently of both the curvature parameter and the three dimensionless coupling constants of teleparallel gravity.

Abstract:A coaxial electrostatic system is studied, where the inside surface of the outer conductor is corrugated with sinusoidal ripples and connected to a negative voltage while outside surface of the inner rod is smooth and grounded. The electrostatic potential is governed by a 2-dimensional Laplace equation in a cylindrical coordinates system with sinusoidal-ripples boundary conditions. By employing separation of variables, analytical solution of the field is derived in detail. Excellent agreement between the analytical formula and the CSTsimulation is confirmed. As an important application, it can be expected to play a role of the electrostatic wiggler in a free-electron laser.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the relationship of two kinds of intermediate-statistics, since there exits real physical systems which obey intermediate statistics. One is Gentile statistics, the other is fractional statistics of anyon. To give an different point of view of anyon, the anyon winding number representation(WNR) is introduced. We construct the transformation between anyon winding number representation and the occupation number representation(ONR) of particles of Gentile statistics. We study intermediate-statistics quantum bracket and coherent state for anyons in WNR, and we demonstrate a method to simulate anyons by geometric phase of Gentile statistics.

6. The Spinor Connection and its Dynamical Effects

Abstract:The current formalisms of covariant derivatives for a spinor take compact forms, and the geometrical and dynamical effects of the spinor connection are covered under the abstract symbols. The practical calculations for the spinor connection in these formalisms are usually a tiresome and fallible task. In this paper, we divide the spinor connection into two vectors $\\Upsilon_\\mu$ and $\\Omega_\\mu$, where $\\Upsilon_\\mu$ is mainly related to the geometrical calculations, but $\\Omega_\\mu$ leads to gravimagnetic effects. The expression is valid for both the Weyl spinor and the Dirac bispinor, which is not only more convenient for calculation, but also highlights the physical meanings of the spinor connection. On this foundation, we derive the complete classical mechanics from the dynamical equation and get some interesting results. We find in the space-time with intrinsically nondiagonal metric, the orbit of a spinor deviates from the geodesic slightly, so the principle of equivalence is broken by the spinors moving at high speed.

Abstract:The gravitational collapse of a star is a warmly discussed but still puzzling problem, which not only involves the dynamics of the gases, but also the subtle coordinate transformation. In this letter, we give some more detailed investigation on this problem, and reach the results: (I). The comoving coordinate system for the stellar system is only compatible with the zero-pressure free falling particles. (II). For the free falling dust, there are three kind of solutions respectively corresponding to the oscillating, the critical and the open trajectories. The solution of Oppenheimer and Snyder is the critical case. (III). All solutions are exactly derived. There is a new kind singularity in the solution, but its origin is unclear.

8. Modification of energy shifts of atoms by the presence of a boundary at finite temperature and the Casimir-Polder force

Abstract:We study the modification by the presence of a plane wall of energy level shifts of two-level atoms which are in multipolar coupling with quantized electromagnetic fields at the finite temperature in a formalism which separates the contributions of thermal fluctuations and radiation reaction and allows a distinct treatment to atoms in the ground and excited states. The position dependent energy shifts give rise to an induced force acting on the atoms. We are able to identify three different regimes where the force shows distinct features and examine, in all regimes, the behaviors of this force in both the low temperature limit and the high temperature limit for both the ground state and excited state atoms, thus providing some new physical insights into the atom-wall interaction at finite temperature.

Abstract:We study entanglement, purity and fidelity in the anisotropy (1/2,1) mixed-spin Heisenberg chain. We find that negativity, as a measure of entanglement, displays a dip at the SU(2) isotropic point of the system, which is in contrast to the peak appearance of concurrence in the spin-1/2 XXZ chain. Moreover, at the isotropic point, purity gives a minimum, while the mixed-state fidelity susceptibility emerges a maximum.

Abstract:We analyze the critical properties of Lipkin-Meshcov-Glick model in terms of fidelity susceptibility through -body reduced density matrix which we regard as reduced fidelity susceptibility. By computing the -body reduced density matrix, we obtain numerically the singular properties of reduced fidelity susceptibility in the vicinity of quantum transition point as well as its scaling behavior. We also make comparative study of ground-state and reduced ground-state susceptibility. We show that the -body reduced fidelity susceptibility can also be used to characterize QPTs
