Abstract:We study the quantum coherence transfer of excitations between a donor-acceptorpair with a fixed distance $d$ apart, mutually interacting with dipolarcoupling. The pair is coupled to a common environment through an exchangeinteraction. By modeling the pair as two two-level system (TLS) and the environmentas many harmonic oscillators, the coherent or incoherent behavior of this pairappears on whether the pair's inter-interaction is stronger orweaker than their coupling to the environment. Taking the linear expansionof the environmental frequency, an analytical solution for the probabilityamplitudes of the pair is obtained which involves all the retardation times. We found that there is a considerable trapping of the energy within the pair for along time due to the strong inhibition of radiative decay of dark states whentwo TLSs are half a resonant wavelength apart.

Abstract:We investigate the geometric properties of percolation clusters, by studying square-lattice bond percolation on the torus. We show that the density of bridges and nonbridges both tend to 1/4 for large system sizes. Using Monte Carlo simulations, we study the probability that a given edge is not a bridge but has both its loop arcs in the same loop, and find that it is governed by the two-arm exponent. We then classify bridges into two types: branches and junctions. A bridge is a {em branch} iff at least one of the two clusters produced by its deletion is a tree. Starting from a percolation configuration and deleting the branches results in a {em leaf-free} configuration, while deleting all bridges produces a bridge-free configuration. Although branches account for $pprox 43%$ of all occupied bonds, we find that the fractal dimensions of the cluster size and hull length of leaf-free configurations are consistent with those for standard percolation configurations. By contrast, we find that the fractal dimensions of the cluster size and hull length of bridge-free configurations are respectively given by the backbone and external perimeter dimensions. We estimate the backbone fractal dimension to be $1.643,36(10)$.

Abstract:We simulate the bond and site percolation models on several three-dimensional lattices, including the diamond, body-centered cubic, and face-centered cubic lattices. As on the simple-cubic lattice [Phys. Rev. E, extbf{87} 052107 (2013)],it is observed that in comparison with dimensionless ratios based on cluster-size distribution, certain wrapping probabilities exhibit weaker finite-size corrections and are more sensitiveto the deviation from percolation threshold $p_c$, and thus provide a powerful means for determining $p_c$.We analyze the numerical data of the wrapping probabilitiessimultaneously such that universal parameters are shared by the aforementioned models, andthus significantly improved estimates of $p_c$ are obtained.

Abstract:KKLT give a mechanism to generate de Sitter vacua instring theory. And the scenario, emph{Landscape}, is suggested toexplain the problem of the cosmological constant. In this paper, adopting a simple potential describing the emph{landscape}, weinvestigate the decay of the vacuum and the evolution of theuniverse after the decay. We find that the big crunch of theuniverse is inevitable. But, according to the modified Friedmannequation, the singularity of the big crunch isavoided. Furthermore, we find that this gives a cyclic cosmologicalmodel.

Abstract:A criterion that should be satisfied in the inflation andquintessence models has been motivated from the weak gravityconjecture (WGC) by Huang. However, it is found that the criterionis inconsistent with the holographic dark energy (HDE) and newagegraphic dark energy (NADE) models. In the note, we firstly showthat in the HDE and NADE models the criterion should be be replacedrespectively by two new criterions. Secondly, we apply the newcriterions indicated by WGC to survey the two models. We find thatthe contradiction between WGC and the NADE model is removed when thenew criterion is used. In the HDE model, we find the effects of thespatial curvature and the interaction should be considered in orderto match the new criterion.

Abstract:A unified expression of the quantum Loschmidt echo (LE) in the vicinity of the quantum phase transition in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model is derived, which is valid both in the symmetric phase and in the broken phase. The LE shows qualitatively different decaying behaviors in the two phases, in particular, in the broken phase, it has a decay rate that diverges in the thermodynamic limit. In contrast to many-body systems, in which the LE also shows divergent decay rates in the thermodynamic limit due to the so-called orthogonality catastrophe, the considered motion in this model has a classical counterpart with one degree of freedom only.

Abstract:It is shown that, if the reduced density matrix (RDM) of an open system may reach a stationary solution for long times, and if the environment of the system has certain random feature, then, in the limit of large Hilbert space of the environment, the stationary RDM is commutable with a renormalized Hamiltonian of the system. Here, the renormalized Hamiltonian is given by the unperturbed Hamiltonian plus certain average of the interaction Hamiltonian over the environmental degrees of freedom. Under the above-mentioned conditions, the eigenbasis of the renormalized Hamiltonian is usually a preferred basis in view of the long-time evolution of the RDM.

Abstract:Boussinesq-Burgers (B-B) equations describe the long-wavepropagation in shallow water and are potentially applicable to theharbor and coastal designs. By virtue of the matrix extension in theWronskian technique, some exact solutions of the B-B equationsare obtained, such as the soliton, rational and periodic solutions.Solitonic interactions are discussed. Elastic-inelastic-interactioncoexistence is hereby observed, in addition to the previously-seenpure inelastic or elastic interactions.

Abstract:A recursive method for construction of symmetric irreducible representationsof $O(2l+1)$ in the $O(3)$ basis for identical boson systems is proposed. As a starting point, basis vectors of symmetric irreducible representations of $O(5)$are constructed in the $O_{1}(3)otimes U(1)$ basis.Matrix representations of $O(5)supset O_{1}(3)otimes U(1)$, together withthe elementary Wigner coefficients, are presented. After the angular momentum projection, a three-term relation in determining the expansioncoefficients of the $O(5)supset O(3)$ basis vectors in terms of those ofthe $O_{1}(3)otimes U(1)$ is derived. The eigenvectorsof the projection matrix with zero eigenvalues constructed according to the three-term relationcompletely determine the basis vectors of$O(5)supset O(3)$. Formulae for evaluating theelementary Wigner coefficients of $O(5)$ $supset O(3)$ are derived explicitly.Analytical expressionsof some elementary Wigner coefficients of $O(5)supset$ $O(3)$for the coupling $( au~0)otimes (1~0)$ with resultantangular momentum quantum number $L=$ $2 au+2-k$ for$k=0,2,3,cdots,6$ with a multiplicity $2$ case for $k=6$ arepresented.

Abstract: We analytically study the holographic superconductors for Born-Infeld electrodynamics in Gauss-Bonnet gravity with backreactions. We note that the analytic method is still powerful for this complex system and the results obtained by the analytical and numerical computations are consistent. We find that the critical temperature decreases with the increase of the backreactions, Gauss-Bonnet, and Born-Infeld parameters, which means that increase of the strength of these effects will make the scalar hair harder to form. We also show that the critical exponent is not affected by the backreactions, Gauss-Bonnet gravity, and Born-Infeld electrodynamics.
