Abstract:In this paper, the resistive switching characteristics of Ag/Fe2O3/MoS2/Ag multilayer film deposited on ITO by magnetron sputtering are investigated. The Ag/Fe2O3/MoS2/Ag device exhibits superior resistive switching behavior compared to the device without Fe2O3 layer due to the positive effect of oxygen vacancies in Fe2O3 on the formation of conducting filaments. The resistive switching ratio of the device is close to 7.0 × 105. The current value of the device drops sharply at 0.12 V when the voltage is swept forward, and the device switches from HRS back to LRS at -0.28 V when a voltage of opposite polarity is applied. The I-V curves of the device are fitted in double logarithmic coordinates, and it is found that the device is controlled by an ohmic conduction model in the low resistance state and two conduction models in the high resistance state: in the low bias region, which exhibits ohmic conduction, and at higher voltages, which is controlled by the SCLC conduction model. Such a resistive switching characteristic with very low switching voltage and high resistance ratio is of particular importance in the application of resistive stochastic storage.

Abstract:A photonic approach to rapidly switch two microwave signals with different frequency or/and phase is proposed. We experimentally show that two microwave signals with a precise π phase difference at 21- and 29.425-GHz are successfully switched at the speed of 93.4-, 83.3-ps respectively.

Abstract:Near-infrared quantum cutting phenomenon has been demonstrated in Pr3+/Yb3+ co-doped oxyfluoride aluminosilicate glasses synthesized by a conventional melting-quenching method. The absorption spectra, emission spectra in visible and infrared regions and luminescence decay time have been investigated. Under 442 nm excitation, the visible and the near-infrared emission spectra reveal that the energy transfer occur from Pr3+ to Yb3+ ions, resulting in intense 980 nm near-IR emission and the first-order energy transfer is responsible for the downconverted luminescence. The efficiency of energy transfer from Pr3+ to Yb3+ is 60%, and the optimal quantum efficiency is 160%. In addition, the emission assigned to Yb3+:2F5/2→2F7/2 transition matches well with the band gap of single-junction, which have potential application in enhancing the conversion efficiency of crystalline Si solar cell.

Abstract:The optical limiting (OL) properties of graphene dispersions in chlorobenzene (CB) and N-methy1-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP) were studied using a nanosecond laser. By measuring the nonlinear scattering (NLS) light, we demonstrated that NLS effect originating from laser induced solvent micro-bubbles and/or micro-plasmas played an important role in OL process of graphene dispersions. By changing the solvent temperature, the OL ability of graphene dispersion was able to be controlled. The influence of temperature on the OL property of the materials was attributed to the surface tension change of solvents, which was responsible to the NLS in the OL process of the dispersions.

Abstract:This article provides a experimental verification of cover times distribution theory. In real systems, due to the boundary conditions, driving mode and the granular mixtures, the particle's diffusions are usually different from several classic random walks. In this article we investigate two types of granular diffusion: the Brownian motion and the unusual diffusion. We found that the particle's cover time distribution will be affected by boundary effects, and we develop a boundary cutting method to remove that impact. It is observed that the full cover times distribution of super-diffusion and Brownian motion are suitable for the theoretical result in the long-time covering process, but in the short-time covering process, there is a deviation. We think this deviation is due to the long-time approximation.

Abstract:Using time depended density function theory(TDDFT), the absorption spectra of the Nitrogen-doped graphene and gold film composite nanostructure when the pulse excitation polarized in the X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis direction, respectively. When the pulse excitation polarized in the X-axis and Y-axis direction the energy points are in the visible region. The induced charge density distribution indicates the charge transform plasmon (CTP)mode. The material is expected to splitting water using visible light.

7. Finite size effects on the helical edge states on the Lieb lattice

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the finite sizeeffect of helical edge states on the Lieb lattice with ISO coupling underthree different kinds of boundary conditions, i.e., the straight, beardedand asymmetry edges. The spectrum and wave function of edge modes arederived analytically for a tight-binding model on the Lieb lattice. For a strip Lieb lattice with two straight edges, the ISOcoupling induces the Dirac-like bulk states to localize at the edges tobecome the helical edge states with the same Dirac-like spectrum. Moreover,it is found that in the case with two straight edges the gapless Dirac-likespectrum remains unchanged with decreasing the width of the strip Lieblattice, and no gap is opened in the edge band, that is, finite size effectof QSH states is absent. However, in the other two cases with the beardedand asymmetry edges, the energy gap induced by finite size effect is stillopened with decreasing the width of the strip.

8. A novel hybrid plasmonic waveguide with ultra-long propagation distance and confined at the subwavelength scale

Abstract:This study reports a novel horizontal symmetric hybrid plasmonic waveguide (HSHPW), which consists of a cylindrical Ag nanowire and high-index dielectric layers Si laying perpendicular to the substrate SiO2. It combines the advantages of hybrid SPP, long-range SPP and wedge mode for the nanoscale confinement and guiding of light on a chip. The waveguide could remarkably minimize the energy attenuation resulting from Ohmic losses while retaining highly confined modes guided in the low-index nanoscale gaps between the Ag nanowire and the high-index Si. The geometric dependence of the mode characteristics on the proposed structure is analyzed in detail, showing long propagation lengths beyond 7.8 mm with normalized mode area about 0.005 and our design also features an overall advantage of large improvement of Figure of Merit (FOM) than any other properties of HPW structures published in recent years. Thus the HSHPW is very helpful for building high-density photonic integrated circuits.

Abstract:We investigate the atomic current in optical lattices under the presence of both constant and periodic external field with Landau-Zener tunneling considered. By simplifying the system to a two-band model, the atomic current is obtained based on the Boltzmann equations. We focus on three situations to discuss the influence of the Landau-Zener tunneling and periodic field on the atomic current. Numerical calculations show the atomic transient current would finally become the stable oscillation, whose amplitude and average value can be further adjusted by the periodic external field. It is concluded that the periodic external field could provide an effective modulation on the atomic current even when the Landau-Zener tunneling probability has no more space to change.

Abstract:In this paper, we numerically investigate the propagation of vector elliptical vortex beams in turbulent atmosphere. Numerical simulations are realized with random phase screen. It is shown that the on-axis scintillation index can be effectively influenced by the properties of elliptical vortex beam and the turbulence of atmosphere. We find that the topological charge ,the beam width and the ratio of minor axis to major axis of an ellptical vortex beam are definitely important in determing the scintillation index. We also investigate the intensity of elliptical vortex beams when propagating in turbulent atmosphere. The result shows that the distribution of intensity and phase can rotate, which criticaly depended on the properties of elliptical beams.
