Show/Hide Abstract | Cite this paper︱Full-text: PDF (0 B)
Abstract:At present, the measurement s of the wide area measurement system (WAMS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) are both available in power systems, but the measuring accuracy of the WAMS is much better than that of SCADA. Hence, a linear dynamic state estimation algorithm is proposed to deal with this problem. The measurements of the active and reactive power flow and power injections at the nodes of the SCADA system are transformed into the equivalent current phases by measurement transformation, so that these measurements can be combined with those of WAMS and form a mixed measuring system. The algorithm proposed is denoted by rectangular coordinates and the linear exponential smoothing technique and linear time-invariant Kalman filtering method are used to implement the forecasting and estimation. Since the proposed algorithm has a constant Jacobin matrix, the calculating time can be significantly reduced and the calculating accuracy ensured. Simulations are carried out in an IEEE 14-bus test system to demonstrate the validity and advantages of the algorithm proposed.

Abstract:Nowadays motor vector control is applied widely, but in fact motor parameter which has much effect on vector will change at any moment, which affects precision of vector control. A new method is proposed, rotor time constant can be estimated by using torque and flux current and the change of stator and rotor flux angle. Simulation show the method can compute instantaneous parameters and improve precision of vector control.

Abstract:In this paper, the current feedback method is presented to control the low frequency oscillation in one-cycle-controlled Boost converter to operate in period-1 state. The stroboscopic map of the one-cycle-controlled Boost converter with current feedback is obtained by using the data-sampling method. Based on the presented stroboscopic map and the help of the loci of eigenvalues of the Jacobian matrix, the stable range of feedback gain is obtained. Finally, the results of simulation and experiment confirm the correctness of the theoretical analysis and the validity of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper applied the whole modeling process of the large-signal model to an UCC3802-controlled forward DC/DC converter, which was fed by an UC3854-controlled PFC rectifier, and also contributed some improvements to the definition of this model. Simulation results showed that the improved large-signal model was accurate enough in treating the large-signal transient process and it was also more efficient in computer simulation.

Abstract:Studying the dielectric recovery characteristics from interaction of electric field and gas flow field in high voltage circuit breakers (HV CBs), a two dimensional coupling physical-mathematical model was developed. Such a quantitative analysis has not been reported until now for HV SF6 CB because of the complexity of the dynamic interrupting course. And the influence of shock wave and turbulent flow has been taken into consideration for the computation of gas flow field. To realize the dynamic simulation of the coupling field, this paper describes the automatic generation method of self-adaptive meshing grid for electric field computation and slippage meshing grid for gas flow field computation, and the implement course. Thus, the numerical experiment of the interrupting course of CB has been performed and discussed.

Abstract:Electrode contour optimization of arc quenching chamber of 550 kV 1-break extra high voltage SF6 circuit breaker using the proposed variable interval genetic algorithm (VIGA) has been carried out to obtain not only a uniform field but also a dynamic distribution of electric field strength along different contact surface. In order to investigate the effectiveness of the VIGA quantitatively, optimization of two testing functions has been computed in detail. From comparison of the optimized solution with the analytical for the testing functions, the feasibility and validity of the proposed VIGA has been verified. Moreover, in optimization, for enhancing the convergence efficiency of the optimization, the real-coded mode and the improved blend-crossover strategy is proposed and applied.

Abstract:As traditional permanent synchronous magnet machines (PMSM) are deficient in flux weakening operation, a new automatic flux-weakening method for permanent magnet synchronous motor with the rotor speed is presented. The flux weakening principle of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is introduced. The flux weakening speed range is investigated and the forces on magnetic conductor which for adjusting the leakage reluctance of the rotor are analyzed in detail. Results from the finite element field emulation analysis are presented to verify the validity and feasibility.

Abstract:This paper investigates the inductance characteristics of a novel 3-phase (12-stator-tooth/10-rotor-pole) flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machine with doubly-salient structure based on finite element analysis (FEA). Firstly, the topology and operation principle of the FSPM machine are introduced. Secondly, the apparent and incremental inductances are defined. Then, the conventional calculation method of transforming the inductance in stator frame into rotor frame is performed. To overcome the shortcoming of the conventional method, e.g. time-consuming, a new simplified and fast method is proposed to obtain the d-axis and q-axis inductances directly and accurately at two special rotor positions. The proposed method is validated by the comparison of the predicted results by two ways.

Abstract:This paper compares the topology, operation principle and electromagnetic performance of 8/6-pole flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machine and 8/6-pole doubly-salient permanent magnet (DSPM) machine, including air gap field distributions, flux-linkage, back EMF, cogging torque, winding inductance, static torque, and end-effect, etc. Firstly, the static characteristics in 4-phase mode are derived based on finite element analysis (FEA). Secondly, the 2-phase mode is operated under brushless dc and brushless ac conditions, respectively. The torque components and torque ripple are modeled analytically, on the basis of which the torque capability is compared. In addition, the influences of rotor-skewing on the waveforms of static characteristics are investigated. Finally, experiments on a prototype machine of the 8/6-pole DSPM motor are given to validate the theoretical analysis. It is found that the most significant difference between the two machines is in the flux-linkage waveform. In DSPM machine, phase flux-linkage is unipolar, which compromises back EMF per coil and torque capability. In FSPM machine, phase flux-linkage is bipolar, and hence it exhibits significantly higher torque density. This paper lays a foundation for the design and control of the brushless machines having magnets in the stator with doubly-salient topology.
