Abstract:In this paper, the unsteady flow of a viscoelastic fluid with the fractional derivative Maxwell model in rectangular tube is studied. The exact solutions are then obtained for the equations characterizing flows of such fluids under an arbitrary pressure gradient by the method of integral transforms (Fourier cosine transform and Laplace transform). Two special cases are discussed: flow due to a constant pressure gradient and flow due to a periodic one. | |||

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring. For fixed positive integer $n$, $R$ is said to be left $n$-semihereditary in case every $n$-generated left ideal is projective. $R$ is said to be weakly $n$-semihereditary if each $n$-generated left (and/or right) ideal is flat. Some properties of $n$-semihereditary rings, respectively, weakly $n$-semihereditary rings and $n$-coherent rings are investigated. It is also proved that $R$ is left $n$-semihereditary if and only if it is left $n$-coherent and weakly $n$-semihereditary, if and only if the ring of $n\times n$ matrices over $R$ is left 1-semihereditary if and only if the class of all $n$-flat right $R$-modules form the torsion-free class of a torsion theory. $R$ is left semihereditary if and only if it is left $n$-semihereditary for all positive integers $n$. | |||

Abstract:In this paper we consider a convex MPEC problem with a nondifferentiable convex objective function and constraints separable in two variable vectors whose second variable vector belongs to the set of optimal solutions of the constraint problem. A sequential bundle method for dealing with this kind of problem is presented. It is constructed by combining a proximal bundle method due to Hintermuller (2001) and a descent proximal level bundle method due to Brannlund, Kiwiel and Lindberg (1995). The first bundle method is used to provide a starting point at the beginning of each iteration of the sequential iterate process and the second one is used to find an (approximate) optimal solution of the constraint problem at each iteration of the sequential iterate process. The convergence analysis given in the last section shows that under some conditions the algorithm presented can terminate at an approximate solution in finite steps according to a given tolerance error. | |||

Abstract:On the basis of the traditional imaginary number, the author puts forward the concept of narrow hyper imaginary number and generalized hyper imaginary number. It gives a new terse form like traditional imaginary number. Although it is just the advance of the concept, its meaning is very significant. Its characteristics need further study. Especially the problem of infinite is also discussed. Because of the complexity of infinite, it still is a difficulty in the domain of mathematics. In this paper, the author only gives elementary thinking about infinite. Infinite may be regarded as a set and every element in this set has a limit tending to infinity. Abstract: In this paper it is proved that every (mg+m-1, mf-m+1)-digraph has a (g,f)-factorization orthogonal to any given subdigraph with km arcs if k is not great than min {g-(x), g+(x)} for any x in V(G) and that every (mg,mf)-digraph has a (g,f)-factorization orthogonal to any given directed m-star if g(x) is between 0 and f(x) for any x in V(G). Abstract:In this paper the unsteady Couette flow of a generalized Maxwell fluid with fractional derivative (GMF) is studied. The exact solution is obtained with the help of integral transforms (Laplace transform and Weber transform) and generalized Mittag-Leffler function. It was shown that the distribution and establishment of the velocity is governed by two non-dimensional parameters , b and fractional derivative of the model. The result of classical (Newtonian fluid) Couette flow can be contained as a special case of the result given by this paper, and the decaying of unsteady part of GMF displays power law behavior, which has scale invariance. | |||
