Abstract:Most of the existing urban rail CBTC train ground communication systems are based on Wireless Local Networks (WLAN) technologies. With frequency interference and the increase of train speed, WLAN is incapable of meeting the requirements of CBTC train ground communication systems. Time Division-Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology begins to be considered in urban rail transit systems. In this paper, we first design a TD-LTE based urban rail CBTC train ground communication systems, the handover procedure and handover requirements according to CBTC system principle are analyzed next. In order to verify swhether the designed TD-LTE based system meet the handover performance demands when trains travel in high speed CBTC systems, a laboratory test environment and a real field test environment are set up. Massive test results show that the handover performance of TD-LTE based urban rail CBTC train ground communication systems meets the demands of urban rail transit systems.

Abstract:Millimeter wave have received more and more attention to meet the remarkable growth of wireless data traffic due to the massive available bandwidths. In this paper, we will analyze and optimize the system performance of emph{millimeter Waves} communication with directional cell discovery based on beam scanning. We first establish the system model with beam scanning and analyze the corresponding system performance considering the relationship between the number of beam scanning and the beamforming gain. Since changing the number of beam scanning,$K$, is corresponding to adjust the cell searching delay, $K$ can be optimized to maximum the system capacity and reduce pilot signal overhead. The simulation and analysis show that there exists an optimal $K$ which not only makes the system capacity maximum but also trade off the cell searching delay and the beam gain.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the vertical sectorization in a downlink cellular network and optimize the identify threshold of vertical sectorization and antenna downtilt of each vertical sector. Firstly, we use gamma distribution to approximate the achievable sum-rates of the cellular networks with vertical sectorization. Then, according to the approximation, we formulate an optimization problem to maximize system throughput and achieve the optimization solution through a simple algorithm. The simulation results show that the system sum-rates can be improved by optimizing the number of vertical sectors, the threshold of vertical sectorization, and the antenna downtilt.

Abstract:For the multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems in high-speed train (HST) environment, the inter-carrier interference (ICI) is caused by the non-stationary time-varying channel. In this paper, the adaptive cancellation for ICI is explored on the basis of phase rotated conjugate cancellation (PRCC) scheme. An ICI adaptive cancellation algorithm is proposed by updating the optimal phases per two OFDM symbol periods. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is applicable to mitigate the ICI in HST environment. It can enormously increase the carrier-to-interference ratio (CIR), which is better than the traditional ICI self-cancellation algorithm. The bit error rate (BER) decreases at the rate of 95.4%, 90.0% and 66.7%, comparing to those in standard MIMO-OFDM systems when the train runs at the speed of 300[km/h], 400[km/h] and 500[km/h], respectively.

Abstract:Considering the explosive growth of the wireless device and the serious circumstance for static spectrum allocation, the scarcity of radio frequency has become an increasingly apparent problem. Cognitive radio ad hoc networks(CRAHNs) is an emerging technology opportunistically accessing the licensed spectrum of the primary user(PU) by the secondary user(SU), which can improve the usability of existing allocated frequency spectrum. If SUs want to correspond with any other users, they should establish a communication topology network to exchange messages simultaneously and efficiently. Many methods to establish communication links between two users have been proposed. however, a multi-terminal networking technology is under-explored. In this paper, how to establish the self-organizing network without common control channel(CCC) is proposed. The protocol builds a novel dynamic tree-based architecture for CRAHNs. Meanwhile, we discuss several factors which played a key role in networking technology. A fast networking protocol meets the mounting demand. Through optimization analysis and graph theory, the method we propose tries to reduce the networking time and build a stable network. Extensive simulations and analysis were conducted to evaluate the performance of the algorithm in terms of the success rate and networking time.

Abstract:Different positioning methods currently have limitations in respective application scenarios, so the integration of positioning has become a hot topic. In terms of data integration, inconsistent and fluctuations of the positioning data makes it difficult when fit the data. To solve this problem, the paper presents a method for position data filtering and data fusion normalization. Firstly, heterogeneous data sets are filtered with R-EWMA algorithm to obtain higher quality fusional data, and then fusion data are normalized with a modified Z-score normalization method without affecting the positioning accuracy and confidence. The study is mainly targeted at preprocessing work of multi-source heterogeneous data fusion, and to some extent excluding the invalid data. Experimental results show that TDOA and RSSI Location noise fluctuations have improved significantly through the methods, and the normalized space is in accordance with the fusion requirement, which will be effectively applied to the next study of fusion location.

Abstract:Due to the dynamic relative motion of the mobile station and the satellite, the signal is affected by varied frequency offset, resulting in a worse performance, such as a higher bit error rate (BER) in the low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication system. Considering that a mobile station is usually covered by several LEO satellites., this paper presents a novel scheme on adjusting OFDM subcarrier interval, which would properly make use of multiple link signals to achieve a maximum user capacity. What's more, BER would be controlled at a reasonable threshold value by eliminating the inter carrier interference (ICI). The signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of the received signal is analyzed theoretically, and the formula of BER as well as user capacity is derived out according to the very circumstance. And simulation is presented to demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves a much larger user capacity by searching for the optimum subcarrier interval.

Abstract:Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC), which is an emerging 5G waveform candidate, has gained wide attention in recent years. The properties of UFMC is very close to OFDM, while the former has better spectrum properties than the latter. UFMC is more suitable for short-burst communication systems than other 5G waveform candidates, for example, Filter-Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC). However, the complexity of conventional UFMC transmitter is much higher than OFDM. To solve this problem, this paper firstly present a low complexity transmitter structure based on the combination of small-size IFFT and time-domain interpolation. On the basis of this, a new Polyphase Network (PPN) based UFMC transmitter with much lower computational complexity is proposed. Our PPN based approach eventually brings the complexity of UFMC transmitter down to the same level as OFDM, and makes the complexity of UFMC transmitter even lower than OFDM in some special conditions. This PPN based low complexity implementation makes UFMC more suitable for the devices with low computing power.

Abstract:Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) technology provides a good support for vehicle networking communication because its high speed, large capacity, low delay and other characteristics. But for the highway, which is sensitive to delay, the periodic transmission of the beacon in the LTE-A system leads to an intolerable delay. To optimize the delay, this paper improve a distributed peer discovery protocol. The proposed protocol requires vehicles to advertise their presence, and Evolved NodeB (eNB) divides them into clusters following a certain rule, which we called peer discovery. In order to minimize delay occupancy, vehicles in different groups broadcast their information on the same slot. Our numerical analysis indicates that under the same discovery probability, the delay is reduced by 60%.

Abstract:The application of Bayesian Compressive Sensing framework to spectrum sensing has successfully attracted much attention, as it can sample sparse signals at sub-Nyquist rates in wideband cognitive radio network (CRN) to alleviate the bandwidth requirements on the hardware of most receivers. But it takes a long time to make signal parameter estimation recursively for the sparse signal recovery especially in the dual polarization antenna system. In this paper, Bayesian compressive spectrum sensing based on a dual polarization antenna receiving system is proposed to increase the accuracy and efficiency of the signal detection. In this scheme, we firstly make a combination of the two compressive signals received in both horizontal and vertical polarization directions by using the proposed angle weight combining (AWC) model, and then recover the combined signal. The approach is different from the traditional recovery operations which recover the received signals in both horizontal and vertical polarization directions respectively. Furthermore, the simulation results show that it has better performance and lower complexity compared with traditional methods.
