Show/Hide Abstract | Cite this paper︱Full-text: PDF (0 B)
Abstract:In this paper, a spider power tree design technique based on constructal theory is introduced for optimal direct current performance. The optimal configuration ratio, the optimal order, and the spider tree dimensions are obtained for optimal voltage drop and resistance. In the meantime, a spider PCB power plane based on the spider tree is developed for printed circuit board. The designed spider power plane example illustrates that the designed plane has multifunctions of low voltage drop, current contour robustness, equidistribution, compactness and effective noise isolation while maintaining a relatively simple design of geometry. The constraints are the total areas of the plane and the high conductivity paths. The degrees of freedom are configuration ratios and assembly number. High complexity is not necessarily the best solution and the optimal assembly level (complexity) is 12.

Abstract:Wireless sensor networks may be used in the explosion environment, such as underground tunnel in coal mine. In order to assure that nodes work normally, the power of the node must be intrinsic safety. An intrinsic safety power of nodes of which consists of power supply and intrinsic safety protection is developed. The power supply mainly consists of current-mode controller chip LTC1871 which controls the output voltage, can attains a stable output voltage. The intrinsic safety protection consists of a dual-stage electric current monitor chip and a voltage regulator tube, which is combined with an over-voltage protection that was integrated in LTC1871 to make up intrinsic safety protection circuit of double over-voltage and over-current protection. The theory analysis and simulation tests on discharge process of intrinsic safety power are described. The results display that the discharge energy is the nonlinear proportion of the current, increases with the current increasing, and the maximum discharge energy is less than 0.02mJ; the discharge power is the linear proportion of current, increases with the current increasing, and the maximum discharge power is less than 60W, which is within the permissible intrinsic safety standard, therefore the power is the intrinsic safety.

Abstract:The model of dc SQUID is constructed in the software PSpice. Taking advantage of the new model, we simulated the I-V characteristics and V-Φ characteristics of dc SQUID with different parameters. On this basis, we simulated the SQUID composed of intrinsic Josephson junction arrays by changing circuit parameters. Important results are obtained, which is valuable for understanding of the principles of dc SQUID and selection of parameters.

Abstract:In this paper, silver powders with a uniform particle size of 0.2~0.4 µm and excellent dispersibility were applied to make conductive ink for inkjet printing process. The thermal behaviors of silver particles sintered at different temperature were investigated by XRD pattern. It was found out that, during the sintering process, not only particle size increased but also the crystal grains in the particles grew. A drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet printing system was employed to print conductor using as-mentioned silver particles suspended in terpineol / polyketone (PK) system as conductive material. When the value of WPK/W silver was 5%, the resistivity of conductor was low to 2.0 µΩ•cm, and then it increases as the ratio increasing. Generally speaking, with increasing weight ratio of PK, the adhesion strength of conductor increases. The microstructures of silver conductor were analyzed by SEM, and the results showed that the densification of conductor and long-range inter-particle connectivity give the silver conductor a low resistivity. The adhesiveness effect from PK resin gives conductor the high adhesion strength.

Abstract:Based on the CST software, numerical simulations are carried out for the frequency response in a coaxial Bragg structure with tapered ripples. Results show that the bandwidth of the frequency response can be either narrowed or expanded, which depends on the tapering angle, and that the residual side-lobes of the frequency response can be effectively suppressed by employing the windowing-function technique. These characters of a tapered coaxial Bragg structure are favorable to improvement of the performance as a reflector or a filter in its application.

Abstract:The Bragg structure can be used as a reflector ,also can be used as a filter. When it as a reflector to construct resonator, the selectivity of a Bragg reflector can be increased by making the bandwidth narrower; when it as a filter , the bandwidth is more broad, the filter bound more broad. To change the bandwidth of a coaxial Bragg structure with inner and outer conducting wall gradient sinusoidally corrugated is investigated. Numerical study illustrates that the bandwidth can be changed obviously when the outer wall and the inner rod are corrugated with a same gradient sinusoidally corrugated.

Abstract:System development in advanced SOPC allows considerable flexibility, both during development and in field use. In this paper, we explores the design of a Bluetooth—Ethernet adapter based on SOPC. Two levels of parallelisms are analyzed for an efficient implementation with the computing part on Nios II embedded soft processor and the audio stream preprocessing part on customized hardware. It begins with review of the development procedure of SOPC, and then the design mechanism of IIS controller IP core and software based on Nios II CPU. In our studies, we developed the embedded system in an Altera Cyclone FPGA, together with Lightweight TCP/IP stack and µC/OS-II system. Results of simulation and test show that the design is successful.

9. Interfacial Reaction Induced PBTI and NBTI Characteristics in the HfN/HfO2 Gate Stacks with Low Preexisting Trap Density

Abstract:In this paper, HfN/HfO2 gated n-FETs and p-FETs with low preexisting traps density in the HfN/HfO2 gate stacks were fabricated by using a high temperature process. The positive and negative bias temperature instability (PBTI and NBTI) characteristics in the HfN/HfO2 gate stacks are studied systematically. The characteristics of the Vt instability mainly caused by the stress-polarity instead of the substrate type -dependent are observed both in n-FETs and p-FETs. The negative threshold voltage (Vt) shifts, which can be well fitted by a generalized reaction-diffusion (R-D) model, are observed under both positive and negative bias temperature (NBT) stressing. The mechanisms of the interfacial reactions induced by the injected electrons or holes from substrates are proposed to explain the observed PBTI and NBTI characteristics: under PBT stressing, the injected electrons from the substrates induce the breaking of the Si-O bonds in the interfacial layer between HfO2 layer and Si substrates, which causes the PBTI characteristics; under NBT stressing, the injected holes from the substrate induce the breaking of the Si-H bonds at Si interface, which causes the NBTI characteristics. The consistency between the measured data and the ones predicted by the mechanisms confirms the validity of the interfacial reactions mechanisms.

Abstract:Based on coupled mode theory of the irregular coaxial waveguide with smoothly varying profile, the mode selectivity of a coaxial Bragg reflector with inner and outer conducting wall sinusoidally corrugated is investigated. Numerical analysis is carried out under various corrugation parameters, and the results indicate that good mode selectivity can be achieved when the outer wall and inner rod of the reflector are corrugated with a same ripple period and proper amplitude. Comparative study shows that if the outer wall and inner rod have different corrugation periods, the mode selectivity of the coaxial Bragg reflector may be deteriorated.
