Abstract:Scheduling is critical to perfomance in the long term evolution(LTE) system. In this paper, a novel packet scheduling algorithm based on utility function and request activation detection(RAD) algorithm is proposed and studied. The scheme reduces the resource numbers of high QoS users to general QoS users by utility function, so that it can provide a higher fairness for users' throughput and a small delay for more users. In this paper, the algorithm compares throughput, fairness, packet delay and other aspects with some exiting algorithms. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme has higher fairness and smaller delay while the cell throughput is stable.

Abstract:Fission mode of information transmission in the Microblog network presents a challenge to the existing public opinion diffusion model. In order to depict the mechanism of the public opinion transmission in the Microblog network, this paper proposes a topic evolution model based on the complex networks and infectious disease dynamics theory. The model takes the directed scale-free network as the carrier, which synthetically considers the characteristics of topic propagation and its influence factors. In addition, the research performs simulation analysis, of which result mirrors the topic evolution process from common topic into hot topic, and verifies its validity.

Abstract:The work of maintaining the positions of each book in a big library has always been a very complicated and time consuming work. Since every people in the library, the librarian, the teachers, the students, can alter the positions of books randomly. Therefore, allocating a book in a big library is a difficult problem. RFID has been a promising technology since its infancy for inventory. And some indoor positioning application has been developed based on this platform. However, the previous work has been contributed to measure the Euclidean position of a RFID tagged item and the accuracy is under satisfactory compared to the small size of a book. In this work, we proposed a new method to locate a single book. It combines the empirical measurements with signal propagation modeling to determine book location and thereby enable book position notification service to readers. We present experimental results that demonstrate the ability of this method to estimate book location with a high degree of accuracy.

Abstract:?Multiple access relay channel (MARC) has been considered in recent papers as a means of improving the performance of spectral efficiency in mobile radio networks. And it has been considered as a promising solution to make the conventional point-to-point mode operation more competitive to the future mobile radio networks. In MARC, transmitting users share their resources to help each others' transmission for reliable delivery to the destinations. Relay stations in MARC are deployed in standard with the objectives of significant increase of achievable rate for both cell-edge users as well as overall system capacity. In this paper, we have proposed a modification to the MARC scheme and take the proposed scheme into LTE systems. The performance of MARC networks has been investigated based on different relay deployments and power control, it is presented a system level simulation developed to evaluate the performance of MARC scheme and we mainly focus on the Cell-edge and Cell-average spectral efficiency of mobile radio networks in the MARC. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieved significant performance gains compared to the conventional macro-only and L1 Relay schemes. ????

Abstract:In order to coherently detect transmitted symbols, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) receiver requires reliable channel estimation. However, in fast time-varying channel, the precision of channel estimation is usually degraded by ICI, which is resulted from Doppler shifts. In this paper, to mitigate the performance degradation caused by residual ICI, we propose a channel estimation method which adopts three adjacent OFDM symbols to conduct cubic spline interpolation in time-domain to approximate the real channel more precisely. Close form of this proposed channel estimation is derived. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves a better compromise between the performance and complexity compared with the conventional schemes.

Abstract:Channel estimation is critical to receiver performance in the long term evolution (LTE) system. Reference signals are interspersed with data signals among the subcarriers to aid channel estimation. Linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) channel estimation is an efficient approach to estimate the knowledge of channel with high complexity. This paper proposed a channel estimation approach based on singular value decomposition (SVD) for downlink channel in LTE system. Compared to the conventional algorithm, the proposed approach investigates the channel autocorrelation matrix respectively and substitutes it by small submatrices to reduce the complexity. The simulation result demonstrates that the complexity is significantly reduced with negligible performance degradation, so it could be a candidate of the channel estimation algorithm for downlink channel estimation in LTE system.

Abstract:We present a flexible quantum-key-distribution-based protocol for quantum private queries. Similar to M. Jakobi et al's protocol [Phys. Rev. A extbf{83}, 022301 (2011)], it is loss tolerant, practical and robust against quantum memory attack. Furthermore, our protocol is more flexible and controllable. We show that, by adjusting the value of $ heta$, the average number of the key bits Alice obtains can be located on any fixed value the users wanted for any database size. And the parameter $k$ is generally smaller (even $k=1$ can be achieved) when $ heta<pi/4$, which implies lower complexity of both quantum and classical communications. Furthermore, the users can choose a smaller $ heta$ to get better database security, or a larger $ heta$ to obtain a lower probability with which Bob can correctly guess the address of Alice's query.

Abstract:The convergence of MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) and NEMO (Network Mobility) is a burgeoning topic in the network convergence field. The two kinds of network can extend each other's capability to construct a stronger network system. In this paper, the purpose is to carry out a MANEMO (MANET and NEMO) network structure particularly suitable for the rescue working environment. This project analyzed the protocols and RFCs like MIPv6 (Mobile Ipv6) , OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing) , NEMO BS (NEMO Basic Support) , MANEMO and many relevant projects of MANEMO while considering the rescue working environment, designed the network structure and optimized the routing protocols, finally simulated the result through the OPNET software. The result proved that, in the rescue environment, the improved MANEMO structure and protocols can accelerate the handover speed when a mobile node is roaming among different NEMOs, and it can also reduce the transmission delay and the packet loss of the visited mobile nodes.

Abstract:Along with the growing of telecommunication networks, devices of access networks contribute to a significant of total energy consumed by telecommunication network sectors. In recent studies, sleep mode is used as a common approach to reduce energy consumption in Ethenet passive optical networks(EPON). When the traffic of an optical network unit(ONU) meets certain conditions, Optical line terminal(OLT) allows ONU to switch from active mode into sleep mode, in order to reduce energy consumption. In this paper, a novel power saving mechanism for 10 Gbit/s Enthernet passive optical network(10G EPON) is proposed based on a centric dynamic bandwidth algorithm(DBA). The OLT assigns upstream and downstream bandwidth allocations for all ONUs in a centric way at the beginning of every DBA cycle, and informs ONUs to sleep within a period or sleep for several periods depending on the previously average traffic load in both downstream and upstream. The simulation results reveal that an ONU stays on sleep mode for more than 50% of the observation time averagely, and the average delay and packet loss of all ONUs prevail the requirments of access network when 10G EPON system is not at full capacity.
