Abstract:The theory of carrier subtraction method for performances improvement of radio-over-fiber (RoF) link with fixed incident optical power on photodetector (PD) is precisely and completely demonstrated. An analytical model is proposed to quantify the improvement of link gain, noise figure (NF) and spur-free dynamic range (SFDR) with the change of carrier suppression ratio. The modulation index m for the validity of this carrier subtraction method is fully investigated. The optimum optical carrier-to-sideband ratio (CSR) for RoF link performances in both double-sideband and single-sideband modulation is obtained. The simulation results and experimental results are then presented, which have good agreement with each other. The experiment is realized through stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS), which has many advantages as a carrier filter, such as self-tuning, self-regulating and narrow gain spectrum.

Abstract:A dynamic frequency equalization method is essential for many radio-over-fiber (RoF) applications due to the time-varying physical surrounding around them. In this letter, a simple and easy-implemented scheme for dynamically equalizing the RoF link is proposed with the help of a tunable and reconfigurable microwave-photonic filter. A novel equipment of variable optical tilt filter (VOTF) made of transparent electro-optic ceramic material and controlled by electronic driving circuit is the key component in the filter to realize the dynamic frequency equalization. By feedback control, any expected frequency equalization can be realized with high speed. Both the experiments and results are presented in the letter, which verify the validity and flexibility of this method further.

Abstract:As an important step in the evolution of TD-SCDMA system, TD-HSDPA system offers higher data rate and network capacity. TD-SCDMA network is now under deployment in China. And TD-HSDPA will also start to be deployed in the near future. Research on the co-existence between these two above mentioned systems is very important to the deployment of TD-SCDMA network and TD-HSDPA network. But related research is quite limited. In this paper, the system performance of TD-SCDMA system and TD-HSDPA system is studied when they are co-existing. Some important simulation assumptions, including the deployment scenario, the propagation models and the interference models are described in this paper. Besides, impact on system capacity due to the co-existed systems is investigated. And finally, some advises on the deployment of TD-HSDPA and TD-SCDMA systems are given.

Abstract:Fixed relay has been proved to be a promising solution to the high data rates and ubiquitous coverage requirements of future wireless cellular networks. But a multi-hop link may consume multiple times of radio resource comparing to a direct link, which may result in a penalty of the scare radio resource. As a result, the radio resource partition plays an important role in the multi-hop cellular network. Some smart radio resource allocation schemes have been proposed, such as the “pre-configured and fixed” scheme and “reuse resource partition (RRP)” scheme. In this paper, the concept of “two-hop resource reuse with power control (TRR)” is first applied to the multi-hop cellular networks. Through the theoretical analysis and simulation, it is demonstrated that, for the uniform traffic distribution, the cell throughput of TRR scheme is about twice as that of the RRP scheme.

Abstract:Since ARINC 664/AFDX standard has been selected for wide use in principal aircraft network in advanced airplanes. New generation Aircraft Network is currently under definition to enhance the AFDX in Aircraft Data Network with higher throughput and the support of more applications to open the door between Avionics Data Network and Internet world, which will introduce certain potential security issues. Therefore, this paper is going to introduce the difference between the two worlds.

Abstract:Clustering sensor nodes is an effective technique to prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks. In this paper we investigate the impact of heterogeneity of nodes, in terms of their energy and data amount, and propose a novel adaptive, distributed, energy efficient clustering algorithm AEEC for wireless sensor networks, which better suits the heterogeneous sensor networks. Our approach elects cluster heads based on the node energy relative to that of whole network, which can employ energy more efficiently in heterogeneous networks. Simulation results show that AEEC can prolong the stable region of lifetime compared to the other clustering algorithm, and the average throughput is increased effectively of wireless sensor networks. Abstract:The new member in IEEE 802.11 protocol series is IEEE 802.11s. It is designed to provide mesh services in WLAN, named as Wireless Mesh Network (WMN). We propose a channel assignment mode and channel appointment manner. Furthermore, we analyze the data transmission under our system assumption and gain the corresponding formulations on transmission time delay and throughput. At last, the simulation using matlab is conducted under the condition of 802.11b, and the result proves the superiority of channel assignment schedule and media access mechanism proposed in this thesis.

Abstract:This paper proposes TA-MAC, a medium access control (MAC) protocol designed for wireless sensor networks. Previously proposed MAC protocols for WSNs aim to provide energy efficiency by using a periodical active/sleep scheme. However, they may not provide adaptivity to various traffic conditions while ensuring reduction in energy consumption. To handle variations in traffic load, TA-MAC introduces a mechanism that active nodes try to notify nodes a few hops away of what is going on so that the latter could be ready when data arrives. Besides, TA-MAC introduces a way to protect data from loss because of the limit of the buffer. Our simulation results show that our proposed protocol achieves significant improvements on the throughput for traffic load variations, while still ensuring energy savings compared with other MAC protocols designed for sensor networks such as T-MAC.

Abstract:In this paper, we present an algorithm to construct the convolutional multicast network coding over any finite directed cyclic graph from a brand-new point. In this algorithm, we consider the dual line graph of a directed cyclic graph as a system, in which the global encoding kernels in the original graph are the corresponding inputs or outputs and the local encoding kernels in original graph are gains of channels. Then we can construct the convolutional multicast by using the classical Mason formula on the system.

Abstract:Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) has already been the main multiple access technology for 3G long term evolution(LTE) and 4G.This paper analyzes characteristics of OFDMA multiple access technology and puts forward a new OFDMA handover algorithm (sub-carriers bidirectional arrayed handover algorithm, SBA). The simulation results show that, during handover process, SBA algorithm proposed in this paper guarantees users in OFDMA system keeping the best channel SIR and QoS. Moreover, SBA algorithm decreases the extra consumption of the handover, and improves OFDMA system performance.
