Abstract:The existing encodable irregular LDPC codes may have a degraded BER performance when it is derived from classical regular QC LDPC codes since both girth property and weight property are not carefully given attention to two or more thing. Some codes have large girths but they have small minimum weights which lead to a poor BER performance. To solve the problem, we propose a new approach to construct the encodable irregular QC codes, which can not produce new short girths and can keep the large minimum weight and minimum distance of the codes. The theorems of girth 4 and girth 6 are provided to test the girth variance of the obtained irregular QC codes. Simulations verify the construction of the QC LDPC codes to be valid, since better BER performance than that of existing encodable irregular LDPC codes is obtained.

Abstract:Based on 2-D Laplace-z transform, this paper develops a 2-D stability test for queue systems with fixed parameters. In this paper, classical queue systems with fixed parameters are modeled into 2-D continuous-discrete systems with fixed parameters. Then taking 2-D Laplace-z transform for them, we obtain the 2-D s-z domain queue models. Applying the presented Hurwitz-Schur stability theorems, the stability of typical queue systems can be determined in 2-D s-z domain, it is not necessary to find the solutions of queue systems in time-state domain, which is difficult generally. In the 2-D stability analysis of queue systems, this paper reveals that 2-D boundary conditions of queue systems may lead to the problem of second kind nonessential singularities. The hybrid 2-D transform’s definitions and theorems for the stability analysis of queue systems are given in the paper. Examples are given to verify the results of this paper.

Abstract:As an enhanced WCDMA, HSUPA(High Speed Uplink Packet Access)inherits characteristics such as power control, handover control, etc. In this article, HSUPA system is studied on system level. Through some project cases simulated with given simulation algorithm, effects on cell capacity and performance are remarkable. System-level-simulation of HSUPA constructs a simulation platform which UE (User Equipment) are scattered by given strategy and traffics used are flexibly configured. From the introduction of simulation algorithm and results of simulation case, we can see the simulation platform performs well and provides abundant results to researchers and network engineers. The algorithm will be put across in detail.

Abstract:This paper considers the optimal resource allocation for MIMO-OFDM systems in multi-user downlink scenario. By using zero-forcing based SDMA scheme, the multi-user MIMO channels are converted to several SISO channels, which facilitate the proposed bit loading algorithm with the objective of minimizing the system bit error rate (BER). We provide the general mathematical formulation of the optimization problem which includes multi-user interference cancellation, multi-user diversity, bits and power allocation. We consider only the case that the total power and rate are defined by a system. Thus, our proposed algorithm can be expressed through a closed form equation, and it has very low complexity comparing with the iterative ones.

Abstract:Two dispersion compensation schemes of an optical label switching transmission system were investigated, which deploying 40Gb/s Return Zero Differential Phase-Shift Keying (RZ-DPSK) payload labeled with 2.5Gb/s On-Off Keying (OOK) signal based on the Optical Carrier Suppression and Separation (OCSS) technique. In the Fiber Bragg Gating (FBG) scheme the receiver sensitivity of payload and label achieved -32.2dBm and -25.1dBm, respectively. Using the Fiber Bragg Gating (FBG) scheme, after transmitted over 80km, 160km and 320km fiber respectively, the label can be recovered with less than 1dB power penalty average, while the payload can be recovered with less than 1.5dB penalty average, respectively.

Abstract:Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) is believed to be the promising candidate for the next-generation access network, due to its large bandwidth and cost-effective virtue. With the purpose of optimizing EPON system to reduce prophase investment and providing an EPON simulation platform on which new algorithms, concepts and mechanisms can be verified, we proposed and built an NS-based EPON simulation platform which is reconciled to IEEE802.3ah. In this paper, the architecture and module design of the platform are presented, implementation of the platform is depicted. In the fifth part, experiments are carried out based on the platform we built and the performance of mainstream Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) algorithms and queue management schemes used in EPON are analyzed and compared. For the DBA, the average packet delay, jitter and system throughput under different DBA schemes are tested with the offered Optical Network Unit (ONU) load increases form 0.1 to 0.9. For the queue management block, the average packet delay, jitter, average queue size and system throughput for voice, video and data service under different queue management schemes are tested respectively with the offered ONU load increases form 0.1 to 0.9. According to the simulation results, it can be concluded that, in terms of DBA algorithms, Salira and G983.4 DBA has better performance than Fixed and Limited DBA of IPACT. In terms of queue management schemes, the three mechanisms all have their own merit and disadvantage, and the greater weight value one CoS gets, better performance it can attain. Based on that, we’ve proposed future extending and upgrading plans on this simulation platform.

Abstract:TCP (Transport Control Protocol) is the most popular Internet transport protocol that provides reliable end-to-end data delivery. It was originally designed primarily designed for wired networks[7]. Random bit error rate is negligible and the main cause of packet loss is congestion in wired networks. While the emerging of wireless applications such as high-speed multimedia and wireless IP communications appeal calibration and sophisticated enhancement of this protocol to make it more suitable for wireless environment. In this paper, we presented an overview of common problems of TCP protocol over wireless networks and discussed many enhancements for TCP already been proposed.

Abstract:Rayleigh fading model is the most common model to describe the fading experienced by the radio signal in cities. In the first part of this paper, the statistical model for Rayleigh fading is presented, as well as the further classification of Rayleigh fading based on the parameter characteristics, with emphasis on frequency-selective fading and its usual mitigation methods. In the second part the mitigation method adopted in IS-95 CDMA: RAKE receiver, is introduced. Then, an example of 2-branch RAKE receiver is illustrated to show the advantage of RAKE receiver, together with equal gain combination technique which is one of the common three combination techniques used in IS-95.
